Why are they not popular anymore?
>>2077556because they can only be ridden on good quality roads and those have much more cars nowadays?
>>2077557>implying there are good quality roadsalso helicopter parents dont let kids have dangerous toys anymore and among adults they're associated with lipstick lesbians (no longer butch because lol roller derby doesnt exist anymore either)
>>2077557you should have multi-use pathways around you>>2077559there are good quality roads in developed cunts
>uphill
I saw a bunch of zoomer chicks blading a few years ago I think these social media trends only last like a few weeks now
>>2077588Just take the bus and ride downhill.
>>2077556We're on the frisbee DLC now
>>2077556>Why are they not popular anymore?Because they stopped making enough hot girls to use them ;_;
>>2077556It's popular around here but here is flat beach city, there's two things tho, hot girls don't like sweating and second all it takes is one hard crash and they'll be scared of it for life. That said, one of the coolest girls I met is this older skater girl, Crash, full of tatts wearing overalls and quad side by sides inside a cinnamon roll shop. Another one is Kat, full of tatts and short shorts and crop top, tanned and really fit. They're cool but the ones that stick with it are really punk, hot but rough around the edges like a rose and their thorns
Also I saw a cute skinny girl, obviously new to skating, land really hard on her butt and she looked like she was going to cry
I tried to learn these shits for a month and I fell every single time, only making very small progress. The last crash was me coasting slowly then all of a sudden falling super fucking hard to the concrete. Just went back to cycling, so much more fun.
>>2079460quads or blades?i never got into quads but blades are piss easy
>>2079460the way you move when skating is completely different than walking.walking: put foot straight forward and shift weight forward to it, then push off straight back repeat.skating: keep weight in a straight line down from shoulders, hips, knee, foot. then with the other foot, angle the skate outward with whole leg, mostly from the hip joint. when it's at about a 45° angle from the line your foot with the weight on it is pointing, push off backwards with the unweighted foot. the angle will make it so that skate doesn't roll and you can push hard backwards and the weighted foot will roll forwards. you're coasting forward now.then dip your weighted hip and knee, bring the push foot forward and shift your weight to switch feet. this will automagically give the next "step" the 45° angle you need to push your weight forward again on the other foot now. keep making the skating motion , mirror image the motions with the opposite feet back and forth.since you push forward at an angle, you don't go straight forwards when you're skating (you can coast forward when you have enough speed, though) you're constantly going a bit to the side of your weighted foot and then correcting with the other foot. so you're pushing yourself right, then left, then right again, averaging to a straight path, but actually rocking side to side all the time, and dipping your weight low in the middle when you transfer your weight back and forth. so you have to mentally divorce yourself from a walking movement. you never put a foot in front of you and shift your weight to it like walking. you keep your lead foot steady and push BACKWARDS with the other foot.watch a video of someone skating forward without turning or doing tricks, you'll see them going one direction then the other, hips rising after they push off, then lowering again when changing feet. mimic that movement and you're skating. works same for ice skates.t. former rink monitor
>>2079510>shoulders, hips, knee, footwhoops, your hip will be crouched rearwards a good bit. weight over your foot in a straight line up through bent knee with shoulder above them. butt backwards. sorry.
>>2079460oh, and if you feel like you're going to fall, don't panic and stiffen up, you'll fuck yourself up that way. RELAX and crumple, try your best to sit down. landing on your butt is best but as long as you get started with a general sitting motion and still fall over, it'll be a trivial fall and won't hurt really.
>>2077556The rollerblades are safer than the other skate design. Also give more control and speed, even look cooler... though the other kind can be kind of cute on the right kind of girl.>>2077557This.
