why do kayaks not have sails? longboats had sails and rowers, worked out pretty well. with a counterweight at the bottom, some ballast water, perhaps with pumps to balance it out you could put a sail on a kayak.

Kayak hulls exists TO roll in heavy seas. The kayak hull shape is about the paddle's utility for doing everything.>>2079253The hull shape here is doing nothing different than any boat the same length can do. Never get a boat that is not compact when docking.
