Say that everyone on a commercial jet gets knocked out, except for one passenger. Can a person with zero flight experience land it if they're guided by air traffic control?
>>2080116I assume you know about Helios 522anyways a few jewtubers have done experiments like this, the consensus is generally yes assuming a functional autopilot. considering the nature of survivability in plane crashes, any remotely guided landing has a better chance of at least having some survivors vs what would happen if fuel exhaustion ran its natural course
>>2080116the conclusion that seems to come up for these scenarios is that their biggest hurdles are going to be accessing the cockpit and working the radio. if they can figure that out they can probably be talked down.
Found interesting wiki article on the subjecthttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk-down_aircraft_landing
how is the cockpit locked usually i know it locks from the inside but is there a way to bypass it from inside the cabin like in a scenario like german wings flight 9525 for example
