In reality IGHs have always suffered most from not offering too big of a total range. On a 3 speed the difference in ratio between 2 speeds is alot more. Ultimately, since you're fiddling with it anyways, you're not bound to keep the primary ratio (chainwheel and cog) you currently have either so you can do whatever you want.Tip:Shimano moved away from stating maximum input torque and instead states a minimum primary ratio for safe operation. Moronic but here we are.Protip: The recommendation can be safely exceeded by far. My bicycle, if you can call it that, is broken. It is made up of bicycle parts. These weren't forged at home. It's all entry level shimano shit, and a spattering of american "patent pending" one-off levers. There is no reason my vehicle can't be serviced by an average bike mechanic. I know for a fact that I am a well below average bike mechanic, and I service most of it myself. It annoys me that my pile of scrap is somehow unserviceable by the average shop, not for it being "uneconomic" but because apparently it can't be understood.
I'm tired of existing in some weird inbetween space. It's all bike parts and I pedal it sometimes, so I have need of bike parts. The engine parts are hub motors, but apparently no serious enthusiast cares about that. There's a gas engine involved too, but when I have simple mechanical problems, well, it's not a fucking harley so no one can offer any kind of help. I have to just take everything apart and wiggle it around to see what engages what and try to deal with it. It's annoying. I, as a bad person, deserve to be alone. But I as an owner of a series of standardized machinery am annoyed that it's apparently not so standardized. Every time I have a problem that's not emotional, suddenly there's no support, no one has ever seen this before, despite it all relating to a long series of stuff made by other people, for other people, according to standards set by other people, for other people. suddenly all these other people evaporate and never existed. every time anything goes wrong in my personal life, I have to chase down data sheets made by liars, if they were written at all. And when I have to resort to meters and calipers, suddenly I'm the asshole for doing that instead of referring to data sheets that don't exist.

How long does it typically take for saddle soreness to stop being a thing? I haven't ridden bikes in almost a decade but I used to ride fairly often. I honestly cannot remember having to deal with such extreme ass pain like I have now. Its not rubbing on my thighs or anything, its just my tailbone that hurts. It hurts to the point where I have to slouch like crazy even on normal chairs to avoid the pain. Could someone help me here? My crankset is making this constant triple *click* noise whenever I peddle, I just got it back from the shop and have no idea why it could be making that noise. Anyone got any tips?My crankshaft is a Prowheel TA-CQ68
>>2082151could be the seat creaking as your weight shifts during pedaling. could be the pedals, bad bearings etc.grab your crank, lift the rear wheel up and hand crank it. do both crankarms. listen for the noise and see if you can tell if it's pedals or the internal link of the crank through the frame where the bearings are (the "bottom bracket".) also grab the arms and try to wiggle them perpendicular to the frame. if they wiggle, something's loose. then do the pedals. it could be something stupid, like the plastic on your shoelaces hitting the bike as you pedal. I recently had a mystery noise when I pedaled that I could *not* figure out. turns out the new shorts I bought, the pocket was placed differently and my phone was hitting the seatstay every revolution.
>>2082152Thank you for the help. it seems to be coming from the drive train side of the bike. There aren't any wiggle nor it's something else like you have mentioned with shoelaces and such. Should I sent it back to the shop? Figured since it's a rather small noise I could just keep riding it no worries, I would like to take it apart but I don't have any sort of tool for the job

But if I'm understanding it right my chain should have a link that is a little bit torqued up from the rest, correct?>>2082160They did disassemble the bottom bracket, freehub, hubs, headset to inspect and lube it up. among other things like align breaks, bled the breaks.
>>2082163the chain links pivot on the rivets . during installation, the rivet gets pressed in against the plates and mashes them all together and they won't move. the rivet usually needs to be poked back slightly the other direction to loosen up and get the link to pivot freely. there could be other reasons for a stiff link but just go through each link with your fingers, it'll be obvious if that's it. but that's just a guess as to the noise. maybe look at the derailleur pulleys? it's impossible to diagnose over the internet.I mean, most of the stuff the shop worked on could be the cause. if you can get back there, see if a mechanic will go on a ride-along so he can hear the sound.
