What would be carried on this car?
I can't decide whether it's for carrying automobiles that they don't want people breaking in to, or livestock that need air?

>Carriage
Get out of here with that eurotrash.

The crater and the fact that the carriage has been thrown sideways 5m might give away that this is in Ukraine.
If the logo didn't.

See trains carrying automobile chassis frequently here in metro Detroit. Also for some reason it's common for cars carrying corn to leak onto the tracks.

I see these all the time, they're for cars. IDK why they use mesh window things but every train I see coming out of the auto port has em

Maybe for security, if people could get in, imagine how many cats you could cut off by hopping a train.

at that point why not use a solid wall

I don't know the answer to that, possibly for weight and material expense?
So that freight handlers can easily identify empty carriages and not have to open them up to check?

Once stock boxcars were found to be inefficient for transporting automobiles, special open rack cars were made for transporting vehicles by train. Over time these became increasingly enclosed to deal with theft, vandalism, and damage from debris and the elements. Cars like pic related are more or less the default now. Because automobiles need to be moved around under their own power, they typically are shipped with fluids already filled up. The sides of the cars have enough ventilation to deal with the limited amount of exhaust when vehicles are driven onto and off of the train car and to keep gasoline and other vapors from building up during transit.
OP's photo likely is a hand-me-down vehicle carrier that has been resold many times before ending up in a low end market.

Thanks grok!

If you want people to post on /n/, then knock it off with your low value, attention whoring posts that do nothing but make this a shitty place that ends up getting abandoned. Why are you even here if your goal is to shit on everything? Go stand on a street corner and scream obscenities if attention is your only goal in life.

@grok make a Ukranian train with shitting dick nipples.
