Did indecision cripple Canada's transport industry?
Diefenbaker did, but he wasn't entirely wrong in his decisions as the brits didn't want the Arrow.
Canadians are just self destructive. It explains a lot why their own government is aggressively trying to run the country into the toilet. Whenever they do something good, funding is instantly cut.
>>2084139>>Entertainment show mentions the Arrow.>>Canadian masturbates furiously. The Arrow was obsolete. Full Stop. 1940-50's radar sucked and also you could put Radar stations as far north as the telephone lines went -- So in Ontario ( the only place that matters ) Moosonee. So War was going to be, OMG the Bombers are right on top of us !!! -- and you would need a fighter to Zoom from Ottawa and Toronto airports at Mach 2+ to go out and get behind the bombers and shoot them down , then zoom at Mach 2 to find the next bomber and shoot it down ( because of imagined Russian numerical superiority ) .Two main things happened to make the Arrow completely obsolete. The Hydrogen bomb and the discovery of fallout . Even if you shot down all the bombers the deadman switch bombs would have landed close enough to city centres like Ottawa and Toronto that the big hydrogen bomb's fallout would have made them uninhabitable . Microwave communication and the improvement of Radar .. Didn't have to depend on telephone lines to your Early warning stations can put them as far north as you want So no longer have the huge surprise that the bombers are just a few miles away . Don't need Mach 2 + Also it was far from complete -- still had no weapons system, no missile , no radar and was way way over budget .
