Businessman Narvin Lichfield is asking the 10th Circuit to revive his defamation lawsuit against Netflix documentary “The Program: Cons, Cults, and Kidnapping.”

The lawsuit argues the documentary falsely portrayed him as:“a criminal and child abuser”

Judges debated whether statements like: “the children he abused, the parents he conned” were protected opinion/hyperbole or factual accusations.

The documentary focuses on WWASP-affiliated troubled teen programs.

Why did society agree that it was fine for parents to arrange for their kids to pretty much be kidnapped and sent to reeducation camps? Clearly a sign of a deeper societal problem and the death of communities raising kids as a collective

It's fine for parents to let their 8-year-old children transition?

M8, children are considered property in much of the world.

Well, Trump agrees, don't bother him about it.

To be fair, the republican supreme court just declared that Conversion Therapy, which is brainwashing, and widely discredited by actual science to be legal.

this is old as the hills. Kids were sent to military schools or reform schools over a century ago when the parents were unable to properly raise them. Going back even further, it wasn't a problem for the working class and poor - they had their kids out working or, more likely, working around the farm as soon as they could walk.

We have child labor laws now. We have (or had) public schools, instead of workhouses. The right has been trying to destroy public schooling since the 1960s.
