Every news outlet that reported it uses that quote from John Kelly and there is no other source. They always post "allegedly told" unless it's a Facebook post or something.

Kelly was WH Chief of Staff for one year, from 2017-18 and Kelly has been talking shit about Trump ever since he was forced to resign. No one else on earth heard Trump say anything about wounded personnel in military parades except for one disgruntled ex-employee.

First off, Kelly wasn’t some fired intern. He was a four-star Marine general, Trump’s DHS Secretary, and White House Chief of Staff. The guy spent years defending Trump before finally admitting publicly that Trump routinely talked like this about dead and wounded soldiers.

Second, the argument is dishonest because it pretends the wounded-veterans quote exists in a vacuum. It doesn’t. Trump publicly mocked McCain for being captured, attacked Gold Star families, bitched about flags for McCain, and reportedly didn’t want amputee veterans visible at events because it looked “bad.” The pattern is the point.

And “nobody else heard it” is a meme. A ton of White House reporting during that administration came from multiple officials speaking anonymously because Trump was notorious for retaliating against people. The same people screaming “anonymous sources aren’t real” were happy to believe every unnamed leak that made Democrats look bad for the last decade.

Also funny how every defense of Trump eventually boils down to:
