The plan is to have the government buy stock in these companies to help them stave off oblivion for another year since they're doing IPOs soon and if the stock price craters too fast these companies will go bankrupt sooner rather than later.

It may work and it may not, but I simply haven't seen anyone else coming up with any ideas, except some vaguely-defined UBI/AGI fever dream that's never going to happen and isn't even on anyone's table outside of science fiction. Moreover, we need to start trying alternatives right now, before the global economy collapses. China's demographic collapse is coming in about two decades, Russia's will hit in just five years, Europe will find they don't have a leg to stand on as soon as the US divests its interests because they're energy-negative in an age where the military can't roll without oil. It'll literally be total anarchy in the world for the first time in five thousand years if we don't course correct in a big way right now.
