>"This live-fire test demonstrates steady progress in the Tomahawk project, and the Ministry of Defense will continue to work towards the early establishment of stand-off defense capabilities," the ministry said in a press release. The test-fire occurred in the Pacific Ocean with support from the US Navy.
>Chokai is Japan's first destroyer equipped to launch Tomahawk cruise missiles. The ship sailed to the US last fall to receive modifications for the weapon and training for its crew.

guilt is a scam, and in germany's case a whole industry. but both world wars should be a lesson in consequences. keeping only defensive equipment keeps japan safer than building up attack capabilities, especially if they have to rely on deceitful warmongers like burgistan

I don't see what the big deal is. How is this spitting on the Constitution when they could be buying weapons simply for defense? You know the Chinese will be firing at the mainland from very far away.

Testing these missiles will be able to strike the assailants. Spit on Constitution what are you talking about?

Article 9:

They have already twisted the interpretation to allow a standing military as long as it is purely for self-defence, then broadened that to defending allies as well. That excuse worked, because they are careful to only have interceptors, scanners, anti-mining equipment, etc, nothing that could be used to attack, therefore no "war potential", supposedly.
The new missiles are pure aggression, a Tomahawk (Land ATTACK Missile) doesn't intercept or defend, it is an unambiguous violation of their constitution, and another step toward world war.
Also a waste of money that makes them even more dependent on deranged burgers, but that's their problem.

I don't think Japan wants to get targeted by Nuclear Weapons, so wouldn't it be justified for them to buy weapons which can blow up the North Korean nuclear program in self defense?

and strategically, if you don't want to be targeted by nukes, don't make yourself a target by pointing missiles at your neighbours (or stationing US troops which threaten to invade your neighbours)
