The company has been the subject of increasing public scrutiny over concerns about police misconduct. While police have used the technology for years to capture vehicles’ make, model and license plate numbers, an officer in Mooresville, North Carolina, was recently fired and arrested for allegedly accessing Flock’s database 31 times to track her partner’s ex-wife. Similar reports of misuse have been documented around the country.“We all know that the Flock cameras are not only following the license plate readers … they are following children in parks and gymnasiums, and we need this,” the man dressed as Darth Vader said. “I need this so I can stalk my ex-girlfriend.”
