https://nypost.com/2026/09/22/world-news/protesters-gather-outside-un-to-demand-an-end-to-iranian-regime-political-executions/
Thousands of anti-regime protesters gathered outside the United Nations headquarters in Manhattan on Tuesday to demand an end to Iran’s execution of political prisoners and to establish a free democracy in the country.

The demonstration, led by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), called for world leaders at the UN General Assembly to act and force the Islamic republic to end the latest surge in executions, with at least 100 political prisoners currently on death row.

Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the NCRI, slammed the presence of Iranian leaders, including President Masoud Pezeshkian, at the UN meeting as she and rallygoers called for an end to the current regime.

“As long as this regime remains in power, repression, executions, terrorism, and warmongering will continue,” Rajavi said in a video call-in. “The solution is regime change by the Iranian people and their organized Resistance.”

Iran has undergone an execution spree since its brutal crackdown on protesters in January, with at least 56 people hung on national security-related charges since March 19, according to the UN.

United Nations human rights chief Volker Türk warned last month that more than 100 people were facing death sentences under the regime.

Among those recently sentenced to death was Leila Abolhasani, 43, a mother of two who only filmed a retail store burning during the January protests.

man would've been really cool if Trump hadn't fucking curtailed the shit out of this movement by bombing the country and murdering hundreds of school children.
>>
>NY post
Got a non trump regime propaganda source for this?
>>
>>1538499
That's fake news. President Trumps complete and overwhelming victory of Iran is the stimulus that has emboldened and strengthened this movement
>>
>>1538499
see this democrat here defending political executions. He deserves to go next.
ahh yes terrorists should now hide in mosques churches and schools from now on because uneducated retards like you will defend even hitler as long as he's in that sort of sacred place. grow up dipshit
>>
>>1538509
so you're pro murdering schoolchildren?
>>
>>1538509
>ahh yes terrorists should now hide in mosques churches and schools from now on because uneducated retards like you will defend even hitler as long as he's in that sort of sacred place. grow up dipsh
I don't think you realize the correct response to a human shield is not to shoot the hostage.

i am pretty sure this is one of the reasons America went to war with Iran

Ukranians have killed Russian school children
Are you pro-Ukraine?
>>
>>1538518
>>1538519
esl shill, you're supposed to be a trump supporter. stop crying about ukraine, it gives your eslness away even more
>>
>>1538518
It wasn't and stop pretending it is. If anything the US deciding to bomb school children and causing younger, more extreme figures to rise to power in Iran's government killed the momentum the opposition gained from this
>>
>>1538521
religious extremists in Israel influenced religious extremists in the US to destroy liberals in Iran to install religious extremists in Iran to justify further religious extremism in the US back in the 70s

No.
>>
>>1538499
As opposed to the IRGC murdering tens of thousands?
>>
>>1538529
Anon we're not debating whataboutisms here. Objectively Trump bombing Iran fucking weakened the shit out of the opposition movement because people would rather rally around an abusive and oppressive local government than a foreign power trying to invade them.
>>
>>1538519
>but whatabout?
>>
>>1538530
Call it whataboutism all you want to. If the choice is between an oppressive government that deliberately killed tens of thousands and an outside force trying to destroy that government (and completely wiped out their air force and navy) but accidentally killed hundreds, I know which side I'd rather be on.
>>
>>1538532
>If the choice is between an oppressive government that deliberately killed tens of thousands and an outside force trying to destroy that government (and completely wiped out their air force and navy) but accidentally killed hundreds, I know which side I'd rather be on.
This isn't about what side you'd be on, this is about objective reality. The objective reality is support for the Iranian opposition in Iran weakened as a result of Trump's war killing hundreds of Iranian civilians.
>>
>>1538533
he knows, that's why he will probably start erroneously calling you an iranian shill in a few posts for not toeing the delusional maga line
>>
>>1538533
>The objective reality is support for the Iranian opposition in Iran weakened as a result of Trump's war killing hundreds of Iranian civilians.
Can you back that up with a source, because I'm seeing an increase in rebellion and border conflicts with Kurdish rebels fighting the IRGC. I would argue that the Iranian population is closer to overthrowing their government than they were pre-US involvement.
>>
>>1538535
there are unironic iranian shills here. no point in engaging.
>>
you really can set your clock to esl shill
>>
>>1538535
>because I'm seeing an increase in rebellion and border conflicts with Kurdish rebels fighting the IRGC
First of all, Kurdish rebels and border conflicts aren't what we're talking about here. We're talking about opposition among the internal population of Iran in Iranian cities who want to depose the current government.

Secondly: There's no single solid source I can give you, but I can point out the repeated calls for uprising have effectively gone nowhere, Khamenei's funeral wound up with tens of thousands of mourners within Iran itself, and right now the Iranian opposition's main concern is literally begging Trump not to blow up their civilian architecture for if they do somehow wind up in power. The protests against the 2025 mass killings have mostly died down within Iran itself as they've been able to use the war as a crackdown excuse with not a sign of a successful overthrow movement in sight, and if past Middle Eastern campaigns have taught us anything, a regime put into power by a foreign power (the US) is basically doomed to fail the moment we leave even if we go all in to put it up. The opposition movement does still exist obviously, but within Iran itself things are dying down from the potential tipping point the massacres were as people are conflicted over potentially supporting the US after all the bullshit we pulled. Trump's constant threats to annihilate everyone in the region really aren't fucking helping because it makes supporting the apparently US-backed opposition make it seem like anyone sympathetic is effectively rooting for the guy threatening to glass the whole country.
>>
>>1538493
Will liggerals support liberal Iranians, or will they side with the establishment itranians?
>>
>>1538539
The real question is how the fuck is this movement supposed to garner support within Iran when Trump keeps alternating between begging them to do a regime change and threatening to glass the whole fucking region. Why would you want to support a movement seemingly backed by a foreign genocidal moron who seems to actively want to kill all of you?
>>
>>1538540
Isn't that literally what happened in WW2?
We glassed tokyo and dresden with firebombs one week, and begged for them to overthrow Hitler and Tojo the next week?
>>
>>1538540
>Doesn't understand the power of a threat.
So you're with Iran then. Got it?
Glad you're not president. You'd probably go on trips to Iran to suck Ayatollah cock with John Kerry.
>>
>>1538493
CIA lapdogs are so embarrassing.
>>
>>1538546
no? We had to go in and overthrow them.
>>
>>1538547
Threatening scorched earth is ironically a terrible threat. If you're willing to kill everyone to get what you want it's pretty safe to say you'd probably do it afterwards too. So either its empty or the person saying it would do so anyway if they would resort to it in the first place.
>>
>>1538569
First, it's not "kill everyone" it's "obliterate all your infrastructure". Second, it's leverage and it works. Nixon pioneered it with his "madman strategy" and he was the only POTUS who got close to a real deal with NK.
>>
>>1538589
>First, it's not "kill everyone" it's "obliterate all your infrastructure".
There is literally near zero difference when you live in a fucking desert.

>Second, it's leverage and it works.
No it doesn't, hence why we're still at war.

>Nixon pioneered it with his "madman strategy" and he was the only POTUS who got close to a real deal with NK.
So you're saying it still failed to achieve a deal with NK then. Which just goes to show it doesn't fucking work.
>>
>>1538597
>No it doesn't, hence why we're still at war.
You notice how Iran stopped the dialy attacks after Trump's threats and the war is mainly over the strait (which the US now controls).

>So you're saying it still failed to achieve a deal with NK then
Are you retarded? Nixon very famously negotiated the Paris Peace Accords.
>>
>>1538602
>You notice how Iran stopped the dialy attacks after Trump's threats and the war is mainly over the strait (which the US now controls).
No they didn't. In fact they literally did an attack last week.

>Are you retarded? Nixon very famously negotiated the Paris Peace Accords.
Which is with North Vietnam, not North Korea.
>But he used it with North Vietnam!
And it didn't do shit; he made threats in 1969 and the war continued for several more years after the fact, because the North Vietnamese (rightly) considered him full of shit and only came to the table after several more years of traditional warfare.
>>
>>1538605
>In fact they literally did an attack last week.
Okay. No go ahead and look at the number of missiles fired per day.

>Which is with North Vietnam
My bad. I meant NV not NK in my initial post.
>And it didn't do shit
The Paris Peace accords secured the return of US POWs and started the process of US withdrawal.
>>
>>1538607
>Okay. No go ahead and look at the number of missiles fired per day.
This is the result of normal negotiations, not Trump threatening to nuke them. Hell if you look back he's been threatening this since BEFORE their initial wave of attacks on US bases, which did successfully wreck several of them.

>The Paris Peace accords secured the return of US POWs and started the process of US withdrawal.
And weren't the result of Nixon's madman theory and instead the result after years of conventional warfare and bombing campaigns. Nixon made the threat to nuke them in 1969 and the accords were signed in 1973. Even without looking into the fact the North Vietnamese reaction was basically "idc", that shows a pretty clear failure of that threat to motivate them.
>>
>>1538608
don't forget nixon negotiated to not get an earlier peace treaty, which was the entire reason lbj wiretapped him

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anna_Chennault
>>
>>1538609
Hell this actually points more towards that madman theory outright hinders deals; Nixon convinced them to delay a deal with Carter for better terms with him, but then fucked up so bad it took him another four years to get them to sign anything.

https://spotterup.com/operation-periwig-a-deceptive-masterstroke-of-wwii/
During World War II, the Allies ran sophisticated "black propaganda" campaigns designed to deceive the German populace into believing an internal military coup against Adolf Hitler was imminent. Instead of openly demanding a revolt—which would have been easily dismissed as enemy manipulation—Allied intelligence operations fabricated entire German resistance movements, broadcasted fake military radio stations, and distributed disguised print materials to stoke division between the Wehrmacht and the Nazi Party.
>>
>>1538620
Ok yeah cool, however Nazi Germany only fell because the Allies systematically destroyed it and seized their cities and territory so evidently this approach didn't singlehandedly win the war.

Also at no point were the allies running around screaming "You guys better depose Hitler soon or we'll kill every last one of you" at the same time they were trying to convince people to overthrow the regime.
