https://www.foxnews.com/politics/inside-pentagons-doomsday-plan-keep-america-fighting-global-war-erupts

The Pentagon is preparing U.S. military bases to keep operating for at least 90 days without outside support as it prepares for the possibility of a major war that could cripple power grids, disrupt supply chains and threaten critical infrastructure on American soil.

The new requirement is part of FORTRESS, a broader military initiative aimed at ensuring American forces can continue fighting even if the civilian systems they depend on are disrupted, according to documents reviewed by Fox News Digital.

"We don't want to rely on standard civilian municipal infrastructure to run our national defense. We just simply can't. It's an intolerable risk," Pentagon chief spokesperson Sean Parnell told Fox News Digital.

The Pentagon is also laying the groundwork for civilian factories to shift to defense production during a crisis, while preparing alternative supply chains and strategic reserves to keep weapons, fuel and other essential materials flowing.

"Power is combat now. Without electricity, you lose communications, water, logistics, assembly lines and just basic military command structures," Parnell, who led the FORTRESS initiative, said.

Under FORTRESS, every major military installation in the continental United States would be expected to sustain essential operations independently for at least 90 days, including access to electricity, water, fuel and communications.

The requirement reflects a broader shift in how the Pentagon is preparing for threats to the American homeland, including the possibility that a major conflict could disrupt the infrastructure supporting military operations inside the United States.

"I realized that a lot of the way we think about homeland defense was built around the antiquated assumption that two oceans would protect us," Parnell said. "President Trump understands that world is gone, and he's already paved the way for new thinking: Golden Dome, a renewed focus on the Western Hemisphere, Greenland, Panama."

A central concern is the military's reliance on civilian power grids, which support everything from communications and logistics to weapons manufacturing.

FORTRESS envisions portable nuclear reactors, large-scale battery storage and microgrids capable of disconnecting military installations from the civilian electrical grid, allowing them to continue operating during prolonged power disruptions.

"Mission-critical power must be independent, hardened, and redundant," Parnell said.

The Pentagon has already announced plans to reduce major military installations' dependence on civilian power grids. The 90-day self-sufficiency standard goes further, extending the requirement beyond electricity to other essential services needed to sustain military operations.

The strategy also anticipates major disruptions to the global supply chains that provide the military with weapons, equipment and critical materials.

"The next conflict will likely be fought on multiple fronts. Look at the geopolitics behind any major war. When that happens, global supply chains will break," Parnell said.

To prepare, FORTRESS calls for strategic reserves of munitions, fuel, critical minerals, electronics, spare parts and medical supplies that could sustain military operations if international supply routes are disrupted or domestic manufacturers cannot keep pace with wartime demand.

Reserve targets would vary depending on how quickly supplies are consumed during a major conflict and how long manufacturers would need to replace them.

For the military's most critical defense dependencies, the initiative also establishes a requirement for at least two qualified supply or production pathways, reducing the risk that the loss of a single factory, supplier or industrial capability could interrupt military operations.

Another major component involves preparing America's civilian manufacturing sector to support a wartime mobilization.

Through the Civil Reserve Manufacturing Network, an existing initiative incorporated into FORTRESS, the Pentagon plans to identify commercial factories capable of shifting to defense production during a crisis.

The new details describe plans to assess manufacturers' capabilities and establish technical specifications, cybersecurity protections, contracting arrangements and conversion procedures in advance, rather than waiting until a conflict begins.

FORTRESS also calls for recurring industrial stress tests and mobilization exercises to assess whether manufacturers could maintain production through prolonged disruptions.

Beyond energy and manufacturing, the initiative includes efforts to strengthen military communications, navigation and satellite capabilities against interference, including preparations to maintain operations when GPS signals are jammed or space-based assets are disrupted.

Together, the measures are intended to reduce the military's dependence on civilian infrastructure and vulnerable supply networks during a prolonged conflict.

"You don't want to be making these decisions in the middle of a global multi-front conflict. We have to have a plan," Parnell said.

He described FORTRESS as an insurance policy for the homeland, designed to ensure American forces can continue operating even if a major war disrupts the infrastructure and supply chains they rely on.

Jesus christ.

trump is egotistical and spiteful enough to side with putin in an attack on NATO. Otherwise this plan makes no sense.
>>
>>1545160
>President Trump understands that world is gone
Because he's destroying it.
>>
>>1545171
Or he is planning to start another war if the republicans lose the midterms
>>
>>1545159
Does anyone have a post predicting this shit like a year ago or so? I've been searching for it but can't find it. It was mentioned that in the winter there would be a likely nationwide outage since the whole grid is basically already infiltrated and it's just the matter or time for them to trigger it. Don't they already have a state outage in Maryland?.. I believe.
>>
>>1545170
We might actually see open revolt if he's dumb enough to do that. And he is that stupid.
>>
>>1545159
>allows Putin to continue to grind away men in Ukraine
>lets retards like Musk dictate politics
>starts multiple conflicts globally on the behest of Israel
>why is the world so unstable? we should prepare for the worst
The president of peace, everyone
>>
Military industrial bullshit? More contracts for nothing?
>>
>>1545183
>It was mentioned that in the winter there would be a likely nationwide outage
They've been saying this every year for the past decade. Just more fear mongering.
>>
>>1545172
But he said no new wars

>>1545190
The fat orange dotard has been threatening to regime change Cuba on the way home from Iran.

I'm the OP.
The reason why I posted the article is because it's not just the US. The UK, French and Japan are advising citizens to keep at least worth a week's worth of food and water in anticipation of.. something.
The UK said that they are expecting a war in the next few years due to 'accelerating threats'. France said they're worried about Russia specifically, but it's unclear why Japan and the US are doing the same thing.
Thought you should know.
>>
>>1545191
He promised, though. Don’t tell me he was lying
>>
>>1545190
America didn't start this war. Israel did.
And Iran gave their soldiers standing orders to attacking American forces no matter who they were attacked by, so America had to help Israel blow up Iranian missiles so Americans weren't killed by Iranian attacks
Didn't you listen to Marco Rubio explain at the start of the war?
>>
>>1545205
The little fascistic faggot literally said America started the war at the behest of Israel
>>
>>1545207
No, Marco Rubio said that Israel struck Iran, and they were worried that Iran was going to strike America's allies in response (not just Israel).
>>
>>1545209
No, he said Israel struck Iran and that the US had to strike them in preparation of retaliation from Iran
Also, nothing you or anyone in Trump’s administration changes anyone’s mind on this war
>>
>>1545210
Right.
The only reason that America is involved in this war is because Iran gave their commanders standing orders to attack American soldiers if attacked by anyone.
If the Iranians didn't give their commanders this order, there would be no american involvement in the Iranian war.
>>
>>1545211
If Israel didn’t attack Iran, this wouldn’t be happening
No amount of excuses changes that he promised no new wars and nobody is believing this game of semantics. The blame falls on him
>>
>>1545212
So if Israel didn't attack Iran
and if Iran didn't give their orders to attack americans if attacked by anyone
This wouldn't be happening

But you also say this war is Trump's war? And a war HE started?

There is no war in Iran because we won months ago. It's a massive nothing burger. They haven't done shit in months, they can't do shit. We won. We blew up their navy and caved in their little caves. We won. Iran has a tenth of the offensive capabilities they had at the start of the war, they know it, we know it, and their lack of activity in recent months proves it. We won. President Trump won. Pete Hesgeth won. Complete and utter victory over Itrannies and all it took was a tiny increase in gas prices. It makes liggerals seethe but yes, we did win.

> in preparation of retaliation from Iran
Because they were about to strike allll of the oil infrastructure in the region.
Which happened.

>>1545190
>"But it says here on the card 'no new wars'."
>"Let me fix that"
>*scribbles*
>'No, new wars!'
>>
>>1545219
No, we didn't strike all the oil infrastructure in the region. We attacked Iran, who had standing orders to attack America if attacked by anyone, and they attacked American bases, had their missiles shot down, targeted israel, had their missiles shot down, so they just started targeting neutral third countries, including their airports and energy infrastructure

>>
>>1545221
Boy are you illiterate.
Iran only became an active threat to everybody else in the region once Israel attacked. That included bombing oil refineries, storage tanks etc etc
>>
>>1545219
Still doesn’t change being in a war when he promised no new wars
People don’t want excuses
>>
>>1545222
esl shill is trying to pretend that Trump didn't rip up the peace agreement with Iran to accelerate their nuclear program, then attack them over the nuke that he allowed them to have
>>
>>1545222
Until then they were only passively saying death to america, it was only after Israel attacked them that they started trying to kill Americans, and the rest of their neigbors in the middle east?
And that was after they massacred half the casualties of the Israel-Palestine War?

Kegsbreth and drumpf already purged the pentagon of generals who put the constitution and America first, the people remaining are just yesmen, that level of rewarding incompetence is why they're losing to Iran.

Iran became an active threat when they massacred 35,000 people

>>
>>1545159
... Isn't this something we should already have? Let's take /pol/itics out of it for a second (if that's at all possible). Forget for a moment that this is happening under Trump...

Shouldn't we want our military bases to be self-reliant? So if there is an attack and there isn't access to civilian logistics, the military can still function? Why haven't we done this sooner?
>>
>>1545723
By that logic, shouldn’t all the houses have TNT paint in case we need to demolish them? Obviously, this wasn’t done before because it wasn’t needed, the only reason to make military bases independent from civilians it’s because they are active and that’s the worst scenario possible for national security
>>
>>1545729
I mean that's kind of a stretch, and I would argue we needed this as far back as the Cold War. Also what do you mean by active? FPCON 4?
