doubt it, at least not without autism like boring it out and polishing wear surfaces etc. since it was left outside without anything covering the intake and exhaust ports so moisture would get in and fuck everything that didn't have a film of oil on it.

I don't understand the big deal.
There were tonnes of I4 250's easily doing 50-70-90k km and still running. My ols GSF250 I took from 13k to 79k without ever opening the block. A magnet came off the flywheel while idling is what eventually killed it.
>>

$48,000 truck doesn't even have an interior. You can either buy a brand new ford F250, or have this project truck to uhhh show off to some rednecks?
>>
>>28920683
Every time I see a corvette like this, I always wonder who the buyer is for such a vehicle. What boomer is sucking on his oxygen mask thinking
>yeah, I should spend $120,000 on this car thats never been driven so I can park it in MY garage and not drive it!

I understand very limited run cars, but holy shit who is buying these 50+ year old cars for nearly starter house money just to polish it in their garage and take it to a local car show once a year?
>>
>>28920684
Restomods I somewhat understand since new parts, custom fitment, you gotta pay the mechanic doing it all. But again, who is the buyer for a half million dollar? Movie star, bitcoin billionaire, and other people who have zero concern over money ever? Man, thats like painting some bullshit on a canvas and demanding a million for it claiming to be "art".
>>
>>28920685
Last one from me: I don't think homeboy got the message that everyone in the US discovered Kei trucks are kinda shit for regular use, often impossible to register for road use, and parts are expensive and hard to get.
>>
>>28920683
>doesn't even have an interior.
That interior is complete and restored.
Its also a 1 ton crew cab bump side, one of the rarest configurations of an increasingly hard to find model.
>>28920684
Do you think this should be sold for $20k? Its an iconic car in pristine condition thay was twice the price of a Mustang or Camaro when new. I watched a restored '65 Mustang sell for $50k at Barrett-Jackson yesterday so that price is accurate.
>>28920685
The only thing retarded about this one is the seller trying to get back what was put into it. It was a frame-off restoration and that gets very expensive, you couldnt have one built for any less.
>>28920686
Keis are retarded outside of little hamlets but once again theyre costly to import and maintain which is why local examples in good condition hold value.

Nope, re-read the post. Overclock your brain to hit 60iq to understand the nuance.
>The only thing retarded about this one is the seller trying to get back what was put into it.
And the retarded thing about that is nobody cares what you "put into it". If I put $60,000 into a Honda Civic, that doesn't mean its worth $60,000.
>which is why local examples in good condition hold value.
You're a fucking moron because kei trucks were never new in the US kept in good condition to hold value. New they're $12,000. you can buy a 2026 Kei truck for about $12-16k. That dude, again, dumped a bunch of money into it trying to get back what he put into it. Nobody will pay that.

I honestly think you're retarded.

I have a DD and half a dozen classics.
If I drove 12000 miles a year (national average) I would average about 1,700 miles each.
Since I have a disposable DD specifically to dump miles into that means my classics get less than 500 miles a year put on them.
I have a mint '89 Mustang i bought back around 2001 that had 45k miles and ive only put another 40k miles on it (and I even drove it daily for awhile and did 2 cross country trips)

Theres a major difference between "optional 3rd ash tray" bullshit and a vintage extra cab / crew cab.
Youre talking single-digit percentages of production for both combined and most were used for shit like forestry service and they didnt make it back to the used market.

If you don't like them, fine.
But to talk shit about its rarity or value just shows youre a casual and not an enthusiast.
>>
>>28922934
Doorjam =/= interior
Hence why its painted body color and not interior color.
The interior starts at the door seal (which is new on that truck).
That interior has new carpet, dashpad, seat, door panels.
I know you only deal with modern trash but vintage vehicles didnt have every surface encased in plastic. If you ever see one of these trucks in person you should pay attention to how much exposed steel is on the doors, dash, a-pillar etc.

Dude. I AM the grandad.
I bought the tear drop in '92. Built custom chro-moly suspension and one-off body panels for it in the late 90s.
The bump side i picked up about a year ago just because I came across a clean, straight, running example for a good price (I wasnt looking for one but couldnt pass on the opportunity).

I drove one of those 5th gen preludes for 7 or 8 years and it's nothing like an Accord aside from both being a FWD Honda. The low center of gravity and the 4 wheel double wishbones give it incredible cornering/handling ability. I've owned at least 20 different cars and out of all of them it was my favorite by a wide margin. Nothing was as fun to take out on the twisty roads as this one was.

it's incredible how often the complaints about vintage car prices on this board boil down to "I am entitled to your property" once you peel away the memes

>>
>>28927907
Yes.
All of us old people got together and just picked a random, crazily inflated price for every specific model of vehicle.
We signed a pact not sell to zoomers for anything less.
>>
>>28928016
>We signed a pact not sell to zoomers for anything less.
You've signed a pact to die with your toys in the garage while your kids sell them for 25% of what you were asking to a dealership who then flips it for 500% profit. You sure are owning the zoomers.
>>
>>28922577

Whose side are you on? Cause your maths is zoomer-tier:
>Boomer owns a car he 'values' at $1000
>Zoomer kids sells it at 25% - $250
>Dealer flips it for 500%, that's $1250
What your logic? Cause that means the Boomer initially valued it at sub-market value.
>>
>>28928040
>who then flips it for 500% profit

>>
>>28928685

You can still buy tricked out ready for racing K20 motors from specialty garages for 13k and endless options for serviceable rolling honda bodies to build into a race car for way less than 25k total.

My father owned about a dozen of these shit boxes to fix up and flip for resale since he could do the paint job himself as a half decent restoration job. He barely made more than 5k$ back per sale. 2 others were straight landfill but got resold for cost value of the parts which meant he lost time/money on labor by the end of it. If you want a farm truck to run into the ground since its not getting the mileage put on it then these old shit boxes are fine. I really wouldn't highway a truck like this.

Thats actually not terrible.
Engine rebuild kit for $500 and trans kit for $300 and you have an easily $30k firebird

nope that's pure delusion. where's the rear bumper?
>>
>>28930999
Integra Type-Rs go for less than that AND they have a rear bumper.

Do you have to speed up and commit to a direction in order to get out of that wobble or do you slow down?
>>
>>28933676
sometimes both. some wobbles will fix themselves when you ease into the throttle, others by easing off the throttle. but whatever you do, do not death grip the handlebars, that makes you fight the wobble, which is the bike trying to correct itself since bikes will always want to stay upright, this results in a positive feedback loop that ends in you becoming a meat crayon. If you experience wobbles but don't panic and death grip, you'll get much more time to correct it than seen in that webm. it's scary as shit but it WILL correct itself if you don't try to fight it.

>How much of a wrenchlet are you that youre not familiar with prices on rebuild kits?
I have other important information in my head outside of trailerpark rebuild kits. And surely that boomer removed the engine and transmission because they were running just fine. No, he doesn't have time to put them back in: he's retired and just has no time for anything else other than what he's doing (not working on the car).
>>
>>28935522
It does bother me he didnt mention 350 or 305 just v8. Not really much of a Chevy guy to know how much different they are but from what I've always understood 350s are notablely more desirable. Course I also don't know if they were both offered in that car so I guess maybe it's already implied. I zoomed in on the box in your Pic btw why's it say 351w? Just use the same photo for all small blocks on whatever that site is? Lol
>>28935610
>And surely that boomer removed the engine and transmission because they were running just fine
That's why anon mentioned the cost of the kits zoomie. There's a lot of reasons to pull a motor though that aren't because it's blown. I'm soon to be painting the engine bay on my car for example.
>>
>>28935706
Alright, when are you retards buying that car, plus the rebuid kits, to double the price of the car for easy money? Oh, never? Got it.
>>
>>28935706
Okay Google Ai says 305 was available but not 350. However 403 Olds and the 403 pontiac were available which bothers me more he didn't specify this stuff. I've gotta imagine that changes it's value drastically no?
>>
>>28935710
Pontiac 400 is the most desirable because people find miscegenation repulsive.
>>
>>28935708
Well I'm a Ford guy it'd take a major good deal to interest me. Plus I genuinely have no idea what they're worth. And I've got my own projects overwhelming me.
Lastly even if I was interested, it was a good price, and I did have the time to do it I don't have the liquid cash to jump into it anyway. Hence why my car is an sn95 not a 60s mustang.
>>
>>28935713
Well maybe but Its also totally different engine isn't it? Like cylinder spacing and all that shit I remember my dad used to get upset with me when I was a kid for calling em sbc cause he did like those motors. Unless I'm thinking of a different pontiac idk.

Dude, get some life experience. If I knew that anon was telling the truth and I had some sort of unlimited income to get it done yes absolutely I would buy that car. I don't fuckin care what it's worth you insufferable wurm it's not my car nor do I have the liquid cash to purchase it in the first place. I have the cash to make a 500 hp sn95 capable of daily driving car and that's what I'm doing. The fuck you mad at me for anyway I never defended the price, told everyone to see I know nothing about gm to prove that fact, and you're still here upset at me like I did something to you. You're honestly probably just a loser. Idk if thats a fair price. I told the guy saying it was a fair price Im upset because the listing didn't mention which v8 it came with. You're actually proving the boomers point right now by getting upset with me. I've got 0 stake in the price I wasn't going to buy it anyway because I'm a Ford guy. I got tempted into a 1k dollar camaro before though where I called half my family trying to get that sold and would have bout it if I didn't already have a project car.
Chill the fuck out zoom zoom this life is short but not that short.
Literally all I said to that man was that I'm annoyed it wasn't mentioned what v8 and you jump to some assanine conclusion that I belive the price is fair.
Please tell me other zoomers you aren't that retarded. My younger cousins aren't but fuck, I can't imagine how quickly we'd get rolled in a war if youre all like this welfare queen

Thats a whole lotta words trying to explain why you're furious and the rebuild kits aren't what its missing. You don't even have the cash for a 500hp sn95. I think you drive an SN95 but its a rolling shitbox with endless repairs.
>>
>>28936355
>Nta but its not the money to finish that build, its the time.
Wow bubba, did you figure that out all on your own?
>People with lives dont have the next 6 months of weekends free.
Thats my entire point and the illustration of the delusion. The original anon suggesting $13k plus $1k of rebuild kits transforms it into a $26k car is beyond idiotic. Either you're going to spend dozens of hours getting it all fixed and back in the car for this imaginary doubling of value. Alternatively you pay a dude $8k to do it all and then you have to try to sell it after that. Its nonsense, thus the original price of the car being too high.

>How weird that youre fixated on restoring it just to flip it for a few bucks.
How weird you intentionally missed the entire point I made to then deflect to "well not everyone flips cars for profit" when ultimately they absolutely try to. Kinda what this entire thread is about; some boomer wants to sell something for way more money than he spent on it.
Tell us more about your "project cars" that have been projects for the last 15 years. Perhaps /retard/ is your board?

25k for a 20 year old fwd economy car with 150k miles is absolutely delusional
you could get a corvette from the same year with less miles for that money
>>
>>28936589
The thread is about delusional prices.
You have very little experience with buying (any) cars, let alone classics.
I pointed out why that price was fair.
The fact you think $13k is exorbitant just shows that youre poor and this hobby isnt for you.

Harley wobble is near impossible to get out of since it is caused by the rear swing arm oscillating because they rubber mount them. Adding a fuck ton of bags and lowering the rear makes it worse.

Obviously $20k for a 4 cylinder, manual, crank window, am/fm, body-kit '96 ranger would be a delusional price. Are cowboys fans really this gaga over the signatures on the interior plastic panels?
