I don't get it, what is China's obsession with EVs?
>>28959324EVs are the future and the Chinese are garbage at making ICE.
Chinks don't like the Russians so they'd ideally like to not be dependant on their oil for their authoritarian regime so if they can put their slave population in cheap EVs that don't need fluids then chang is happy. That's it.>>28959348They just suck at making anything quality. The entire Chinese buisness model is high volume low value.
>>28959324Strategic reduction of reliance on fossil fuels.
>>28959324China has almost no domestic oil production. It's a massive national security nightmare for them to be dependent upon foreign sources of oil.
>>28959324Only America and arabs benefit from gasoline-dependant automobile industry. We should've electrified decades ago.
Tesla won
You think about us more than we think about you mutt.
>>28959324EVs are much easier to manufacturer and China has zero oil.
>>28959348>>28959397>>28959414>>28959424On the domestic front, yesOn the international front, China wants a hegemony over EV production and with it a disproportionate influence over the global EV marketplace.
>>28959433No one in the west cares about chinese junk. Not yet anyway, the population gets dumber every generation, so there is hope for chang.
>>28959439Chinese battery technology is better than anything they have in the west. Fast charging in under 10 minutes.

>>28959514>>28959509>I believe propaganda because I'm an ugly resentful chink who's desperate to own da white manVery cool chang.
One, or more, Party members get rich(er) off the production of EV's. That's it.
China is communism, Communism is the great reset jewish NWO future fetish. That includes everyone in ephemeral energy aka electricity and off of oil. Whether its social credit, phone controlled lives or battery cars, what happens in China is the example for the jewish world future.
>>28959324>I don't get it, what is China's obsession with EVs?They stole US LiFePO tech and then immediately scaled it up and overproduced it.
>>28959527China isn't communist, they basically emulated Nazi Germany economically, which is what the West should have done.
It's so frustrating how stupid everyone on this website is.YOU SHOULD ALSO BE OBSESSED WITH EVS.In benefits you in every single way you could ever want. You should be doing everything in your power to convince as many people as possible to buy EVs.The more people buy EVs, the less people buy gas cars. The fewer gas cars are on the road, the less they need to buy gas.The more people buy EVs, the demand for used gas cars goes down. The more people buy EVs, the more leniency automakers have to design cool fun cars. Both from having more income from higher profit margins on EVs, and also from having less emissions related bureaucracy to deal with. If more people were buying EVs it would make both your and my life so much better in literally every single way. "But I don't want an EV because they have all these downsides" THEN DON'T BUY ONE DIPSHIT. That's not the point! Let THEM deal with the downsides. THEIR car isn't YOUR problem.
I just ordered a Tesla Model 3 Premium
>>28959324Gas cars were too complicated for low IQ chinamen to make properly.
>>28959530>China isn't communistChina is a state controlled commie state anon. They just got more lax and adopted a few capitalist strategies.
>>28959536>The more people buy EVs, the demand for used gas cars goes down. You mean making gas cars 2x as expensive.Look at the prices of the last Gen Toyotas before the Hybrid 4cly push.
>>28959571Completely irrelevant. Not even sure how you thought this connected to the discussion
>>28959530Don't forget the bugs and pods
>>28959529They didn't steal it. They capitalized on it. Mutts were too stupid to see the gold under their noses. China beats US at the free market game.
>>28959536Mutts unironically think that EVs are an "Obama hoax" and will kill you for saying their 6cyl truck is way overkill for their needs. It's American idiot generation. You can't get through these fucks. 80 years of post-WW2 patriotism propaganda has made them infallible in their minds.
>>28959324Oil expensive, electricity cheap
>>28959588>chink digitsThat's not hard. The USA is dismantled. Western civilization is already dismantled. Independent Goyim prosperity is over.
>>28959324Google Petro-Dollar. Basically, any country that wants mobility has to send stuff to the US in exchange for freshly printed Dollars to pay for its fuel. Replacing that with domestic electricity frees up untold billions worth of capital investment to be spent elsewhere. Also... all those Dollars returning to the USA causing hyperinflation and civil war, that's just an added perk.
>>28959536Opposite actually. ICEVs are communist, and rely on government subsidies and economies of scale. The less people that buy gas, the more expensive it becomes.
>>28959509>10min chargeI can buy some big diodes and a potentiometer and use them to hook my phone up to 120vac and crank it until just before it catches fire as well chang
>>28959619I'm pretty sure quite a few oil producers accept currency other than the US dollar, such as euros, yen, or yuan.
>>28959650>rely on government subsidiesEverything relies on government subsidies. Governments issue money. They need to spend first. Money is a creature of the State and a tool for organizing real resources.
>>28959585Anon, gasoline cars would quickly become collectibles & the price would increase exponentially.
>>28959871No they wouldn't. Not if the majority of simple commuter traffic was electric. People who wanted "enthusiast cars" would still have a plethora of gas cars to choose from like the Mustang, Corvette, and Miata, which btw would be even better than they are now with better engines thanks to laxer emissions regulations, and people who wanted basic gas commuter cars like Corollas and Accords could get them for pennies on the dollar because the majority of the population moved to electric and don't want used gas cars anymore.
>>28959324EVs are popular in China because charging is cheap, a lot cheaper than petrol, petrol stations aren't as numerous as in the US for example as well. Can use the same motors and batteries across an entire range of cars. Cheaper than ICE vehicles to buy and register. At least that's the reason why they are so popular in China. As for exports, they want to dominate the EV market. Japanese/Euro/US manufacturers simply can't compete with their turn around times or manufacturing costs. Such a scale of economy both domestically and internationally makes production cheaper.
>>28959527China is closer to national socialism than any other economic and political system. Communism was just used to reset their country to build a foundation upon.
>>28959324EVs are unironically better 'transportation' for regular folks. Near 0 annual maintenance except for washer fluid in average conditions, it's the best buy and forget system. I mean, durable cars can withstand not replacing engine oil for few years past their date but still. ICE should just all go full v8 and v12 and remain boutique products for enthusiasts
No national oil production. Trump noticed that and is trying to control Venezuela, their biggest partner. China was probably aware of that possibility when they quickstarted their EV industry. Lots of 4D political chess going on and stuff.
EVs make way more sense than ICE outside of pure enthusiast circles. They're great commuter cars and they promote the sedan form for efficiency.
>>28959527so true patriot. thankfully palantir, facebook and the epstein brigade are standing steadfast against COMMUNIST ISRAEL and their COMMUNIST IDEOLOGIES of endless profits, renting everything, getting your job replaced by AI/mass immigration and becoming homeless (and then being arrested because homelessness is a crime), and putting corporate interests first at the expense of literally everyone else. those are my least favorite things about COMMUNISM
>>28959414They actually have a shitload of oil production capacity, they're just keeping it in the ground for the war that they're expecting.

>>28959942nigga do you not road trip or tow? However you commuter point is correct if a government actually cared about gasoline use it would handout free golf carts as a second vehicle.
>>28960671My EV goes 500km in poor conditions and charges 20-80% in like 20 minutes. I can road trip just fine.
>>28959324>I don't get it, what is China's obsession with EVs?They can't make ICE engines.Oversized RC cars are easy as fuck to manufacture.
>>28959433Get rid of the name, newfag.
>>28959324All they can build themselves are tablets, and so they can make tablets on wheels. Barely.
china is pragmatic. vehicles spend 90% of their functional lives carting wageslaves to and from work. only in america is a car an absurd fashion statement, a statement of independence, etc. -- while still spending 90% of its functional life carting wageslaves to and from work.
>>28961527Why not have everyone work AND live in factories? With biometric telemetry sent to the company at all times?Enjoyment of life > making number go up for someone else.In 2010. China had 0.3% household car ownership. They are letting civilians drive now and, given the timing, see churning out EVs as a way to undercut the West while giving their citizens freedom to drive.
>>28959324China luckied into the EV business as a replacement for ICE. What does China assembles a lot of? Electronics. What do they have? Lithium batteries. So China built this whole chain, inside and outside China, to get materials to make batteries. Then someone says "hey, lithium batteries are energy dense enough, can't we start making actual useful cars with it?" And China has everything at hand to make them. Sum it up to them wanting to reduce polution, environmental kickbacks, their booming solar panel industry and their (technologically) abysmal ICE engines and you got the perfect storm for Chinese EVs.Bonux points for being a strategic resource to hold the westerners by the balls. Don't like China or say something they don't like, well no cars for you. They already did this with rare earth minerals. Every deal the west has done with China ends up being a strategic blunder on the west's side because they're too focused on short-term gain.Mark my words, buying Chinese EV's will be the US and Europe's unmaking.
>>28959324>legacyI fucking hate this word
>>28961672>Mark my words, buying Chinese EV's will be the US and Europe's unmaking.Nobody in the US or Europe is buying Chinese EVs though. Their sales are relatively low in those regions.
>>28961768Agreed with US but in Europe they already make up to 15% of new car sales (lots of different figures being thrown around). The issue is that if government push for electrification, established auto makers aren't ready, most people think their cars are lousy and they aren't selling. Would you buy an overpriced EV or a cheaper Chinese one? They don't have to outsell them, just sell enough to start hurting the bottom line of auto makers to the point that factories and development start closing.
>>28961777The question is how you define a Chinese car.Dacia Spring is build in China but it's sold by Renault and not Dongfeng.Leapmotor T03 is build in Poland and Leapmotor is now majority owned by Stellantis.BYD Dolphin Surf is made in Hungary.MG4 and GWM Ora are the cheapest purely Chinese option. Dongfeng Box is missing from the major markets.
>>28961829>The question is how you define a Chinese car.I would say "is owned by a Chinese company," but I think what would matter most in regards to geopolitics is "is this car imported from elsewhere?" and maybe "does the design process occurs in China?" The former means jobs inside the importing country would be lost while the latter means that the most advanced part of the production would happen in China. In any way, having part of your process being dependent on China means that you are beholden to the wants of the Chinese government. So, your importation of the Dacia Spring could be stopped even if it's an European design. Or that the BYD factories recieve orders from the Chinese owners even if the factory is in Europe. MG4 and GWM Ora would be what comes naturally to mind when someone says "Chinese EV" but as you said, reality isn't so simple.Leapmotor is quite curious and I'm not sure of how that would affect the corporate decisions. Guess Stellantis (which is western) is the one calling the shots.
>>28961777>they already make up to 15% of new car sales (lots of different figures being thrown around). Most of those are cheap leases. Nobody is dumb enough to buy a chink car. >The issue is that if government push for electrification, established auto makers aren't ready, Actually almost all of the established auto makers are now making good EVs. And their advantage over China will just increase with time.
