Any mods that make your car faster around a track and/or back roads are tasteful. Any mods that make you slower around a track and/or back roads are distasteful. Any mods that don't do either are subjective, unless they bother other drivers, like a unreasonably loud straight pipe exhaust (loud exhaust is okay or even tasteful in some applications) or full-retard bright led lights
I always check with the official approved mod list from a random Internet autist before I make any changes to my car that he will never see.
