So how good are China's combustion engines actually? Surely they've been on the road long enough to get a feel of reliability
>>28963088Unfortunate. Only western europeans and the japanese are capable of producing a reliable combustion engine. Not even italians can crack that skill. The muttification of America means we have almost lost the ability to as well.
>>28963088The chinese can come up with some good stuff but the problem is metalurgy.
>>28963088Doesn't matter, EVs are the future and China is lightyears ahead there.
>>28963091>Only western europeans Well they bought Volvo and MG so they do have some insider knowledge.
>>28963088Many Kamikaze drones use Chinese engines. But they usually only run for a couple of hours at most.
In what I have seen, the biggest issue is they pass off "crystalline pure" stuff off when they're selling stuff poorly made with vacuoles and crystalline structure inconsistencies because they can sell them just by weight.Materials science matters.
The most powerful truck engine in the world is Chinese.
>>28963088>mandatory scrapping laws every X amount of milesThat makes their incentives for reliability be short lived. The Chinese can't make shit beyond high volume and low value goods.
>>28963088>Taking a copy of a copy is technically referred to as generation loss or a second-generation copy. It generally describes the degradation of quality—such as accumulated noise or distortion—that happens when a duplicate is made from a previous copy rather than the original source
>>28963088>So how good are China's combustion engines actually?Have you bought one from Harbor Freight to make a go-kart? How about a pressure washer? How about a small chinese motorcycle or one of those farm/ranch trucks? A tractor even? I think they also have engines adapted from oddball stuff in every configuration imaginable. Theres also the toy engines made in Taiwan, but I'm not sure if those "count". Those are all reasonably priced engines, they're cheap and can fail but for the prices its not the end of the world. I'm interested in the passenger car stuff, I'm also interested in what they're using for their performance stuff. If they wanted to start making inroads in the US market, have an influencer get about 5 engines, tell them to beat on them for a while and see what happens.
>>28963101Volvos engine tech mostly came from Ford at the time. MG hadnt developed an original engine since 1970s.
>>28963101I mean those two cancel each other out no?
>>28963088>plastic valve cover>tiny intake manifold so you know its boosted>tiny intake manifold made of plastic >whole front and bottom of the engine are plasticits honestly perfect for you but for a upper class nigger such as myself its not enough, also every single car they put this into will have mcdonalds struts
>>28963272other way around, ford was taking tech from volvo, same as it did from mazda and jaguar.
>>28963395Oh yeah, Fuck ford
China needs to get the mass produced Quality part right first before they can even start on the Control part.Quality Control may as well be a concept from another galaxy to them. They obsessively, instinctually lie and steal so much that the amount they do it to foreigners is a drop in the bucket of what they do to themselves.>>28963256suits at my small business decided to put a predator on one of our units instead of a honda like we've been using.almost all of our honda gx 160s and 200s are nearly 10 years old and have well over 5,000 hours on them and literally have never had an oil change in 5 years. just burn and fill. For the predator, not even 80 hours on the motor and it has developed:>hard start/nostart, rough start, flooding, backfires, excessive fuel use, some weeks later the fuel line just at the tank cracked, excessive oil useIt is also SIGNIFICANTLY LOUDER and has noticeably more vibration. The pred pump sat for like 3 weeks a couple months ago when only a month old. Wouldn't fuckin' work at all when it got pulled out for use. That's when it then developed the start/restart problems. We've had a honda sit for more than 6 months with cheap eth 87 octane in the tank and it didn't give a fuck.but then also our mechanic is a fucking retard nepo beaner so, whatev
>>28963395>other way around, ford was taking tech from volvo, same as it did from mazda and jaguar.>the greatest v8 manufacturer needed tech from plebskek, suuuuurrrreeeee
>>28963495Honda:>auto choke>intentionally burns oil for lube>auto tunes carb as wellHF Predator:>1990's tech>manual everything>quarter of the pricehuh, how about that
>>28963963An hour of machine downtime can take away up to $25,000 of gross revenue from us. Is that worth saving $600 on a motor?Do you even have a job?
>>28964117Yeah, I do have a job. Does your job require thinking at all or is it just manual labor. Because that was the point of my post. Honda engines are fully automatic for even the most hung over mexican. The Predator, while much cheaper, is a pain in the ass to use. You work for a boss thats too fucking dumb to spend just a few more dollars to avoid catastrophic downtime and losses. Go look at yourself in the portajohn mirror and contemplate some things.
>>28963202sauce?
>>28963517
>>28964126Well you must be one of the stupid assholes who sucks at everything, which is how you got the job in the first place, if you think an RoR of 4,000:1 beats 12,000.Oh but it saved 480 dollars on our quarterly and I got 10% as a bonus ohhhh.BUT YOURE FUCKING UP YOUR OWN BUSINESS BY DOING IT YOU NIGGER.
>>28964126>hondas are fully automaticYou're so dumb you couldnt bother to look at what a gx160 is before spewing your incompetent suck opinion.Holy fuck people the middle management of America. Bunch of suckass retards making everything worse for a quarterly bonus.
>>28964357>Holy fuck people the middle management of America. Bunch of suckass retards making everything worse for a quarterly bonus.Don't forget, we work in an air conditioned office and get paid more than you. Cry about it, piss your pants, throw your tools around like a big boy. >>28964353I've agreed with you, Mongo. It was highlighting the absurdity of saving a couple dollars today leading to disasterous costs in the future. Stick with hammers and shovels man.
>>28963091>Not even italians can crack that skillIveco?
