Do tires mounted the wrong way bother you?
No. Now lets see how arguments somehow form from this thread.
what kinda influence would that have on the driving characteristics anyway?
>>28964390It would tend to draw water into the center of the tire and increase the likelihood of hydroplaning, rather than eject the water away from the center to reduce the likelihood of hydroplaning. The tread rolling the opposite direction as designed may also increase tire noise and/or wear poorly.
>>28964323>tread actually helps you by literally pointing out the direction>still mount it the wrong waywhy are people like this
>>28964323what wheels are these?
>>28964593Probably OZ
>>28964390there was an anon with a miata that mounted his semi slicks on backwards and he spun out in the wet when it hydroplaned, wrote his car off.
>>28964405I know from experience that it's not as retarded as it may seem when you're mounting the tire horizontally on a changer and away from the car. It's pretty easy if you aren't actively considering the direction the tires will be facing when bolted on.
>>28964682trying to find that screenshot but i dont have it
>>28964323This is a long shot but literally a fucking decade ago, there was a namefag who mounted tires the wrong way on his miata or something. We all pointed it out and apparently he didn't listen, because a week later he posted a Pic of a miata becoming one with a tree, and if I'm not hallucinating, the ass endof the car was up in the air and everything, and the kicker was, the road was wet. Hopefully someone has the screencaps, but I doubt it
>>28964751that's the one i was talking about >>28964682iirc it happened fairly recently, no older than 2022
>>28964754Oh hell no, it wasn't 22, this shit happened when I was in highschool, like fuckin 2010.Dont tell me it happened twice, holy shit.
>>28964755maybe it did happen in 2010, but the screencap was reposted recently. my memory isn't the best
>>28964751I'm fairly certain it was 2014-15 or so
>>28964323Wait tyres have a direction?
>>28965486Some do. Most are symmetrical so they can face any direction, directional ones have to have their tread face the right way. In the last decade or so, asymmetrical tires have become more popular which can rotate either direction but have an inside and an outside that has to face the right way on the wheel.
>>28965501Appreciate it, anon
>>28964682There was probably also an anon who mounted his tires correctly and crashed. Not scientific
