Are American-made pickup trucks as unreliable as their cars?
american made pickups are the only ones documented regularly hitting the million mile mark.
>>28964470No, our light truck segment is world class
>>28964470Does your country even make automobiles?
>>28964470Probably not considering they're used as abase for shit like ambulances and fleet vehicles. Why can't Toyota make a real truck? They have Hino in North America (which is shit) so there's no excuse for them not being able to make a 3/4 or one ton.
>mutt made >reliable
>>28964689How many Euro engines are FAA certified or frequently swapped into planes?
So what's the most reliable American pickup? Is it a GM or a Ford?
>>28964470They're "more" reliable, but nothing made in America these days is bulletproof.>power joke headgaskets, ecoboost cam phasers>cumminside grid heater bolts and lifters>Duraminimum 10 speed implodersPick your poison. GMs ride the best, Fords are generally the most capable, and rams have the best of both with the most houdini random ass defective equipment youll ever drive.
>>28964717Either a 6.7 ford or ram. Both are great motors with decent trucks around them
>>28964690>car board>muh planes
>>28964743Piston powered planes are flying cars. It's still an application where you need an extremely reliable engine regardless if it's /n/ or not.
>>28964470Cars are reliable too, not just trucks
>>28964470no>>28964689yeah
>>28964513If you drive on the freeway then you rack up miles. I for instance drive about 2.5 hours a day and my average speed according to the trip is 11 mph. I don't spend that much time on paved roads so even an american truck would be hard pressed to make 1,000,000 miles. In fact most american trucks get heavily damaged pretty quickly here.
>>28964513The only model that's regularly documented is the 2nd gen Tundra
>>28964470The turbomax is legit the best engine GM currently offers. And by best, I mean it doesn't completely shit the bed straight out of the factory.
>>28964890there's only one 2nd gen tundra that hit a million miles. there are multiple rams, chevies and F series that have done so.
>>28964513that's a handful of 2nd gen Tundras, it doesn't "regularly" happen. It still does happen with the nip made pickups/land cruisers though.
>>28964942There are a plethora of 500k+ mile Chevy Expresses out there. That's 500k pretty brutal miles with no maintenance. That's equivalent to a million Toyota miles.
>>28964942I haven't seen a single one of those with a million miles on the odometer.
>>28964890that's american made tho
>>28964470Why did they ai slop a bicycle in the back of this dogshit render? They couldn't be bothered to take their product up a hill with an actual MTB in the back and take some photo?
>>28965201You never seen a fat tire bike?
>>28964470Yest. truggs are the majority of what I work on because city dwelling texans have to larp as cowboys
>>28965364>Texan>Doesn't know how t. worksSure checks out
I’m struggling to think of a “car” made in America for an American brand other than the vette and the caddy CTS thing.
>>28965366That's exactly how t. works you gigantic retard, it's the meme way to say "signed,".
>>28965371>Texan calling anyone else a retardAdding anything to a post like that is not how you use "signed," you illiterate faggot.
>>28965375Is it opposite day or something? Your false superiority complex is unbecoming. We get it, you hate Texas. So do I, I have to live here.
>>28965368Tesla Model 3.Dodge Charger.
No, america dominates the truck segment for a reason
american trucks (excluding gm) are crazy reliable with maintenance anything with less than 8 cylinders is a gamble tho gas wise. but honestly a diesel truck is the only thing id consider making a car payment on just because of how long they'll last if you take care of them.
>>28965368moostang
>>28964470nah not really. There are a few exceptions on occasion (RAM's ecodiesel, early Ford ecoboosts, GM's newer 6.2s) but mostly they're pretty good. Trucks are something the US brands focus on more than other things and it shows.
>>28964470they're more reliable than anything coming from Yuropoorstan
>>28964717Ford overall. You really can't go wrong with any of the engine options they're all pretty good now. GM's L87 v8s (current gen 6.2Ls) are really bad due to manufacturing defects, I think the engine failure rate is around 5% which is almost unheard of in the modern era. It doesn't sound like a lot but GM is losing a lot of money putting new engines in those trucks.
>>28964908>GM somehow managed to make a big NA V8 less reliable than a turbo fourpotGrim
