What would Cadillac need to do to regain its aura?
>>
make wagons again
make nicer interiors with quality materials
develop NEW platforms for cars and suvs alike instead of using old ones
bring back the blackwing dohc v8 and make it standard in most of the lineup to differentiate it
cadillac is just lazy as fuck

>drop all meme overpriced pseudo-boutique EVs like the Lyriq and Celestiq
>actually try being genuinely nice instead of being ChevyPlus™
>stop trying to make their sedans be an American BMW; as soon as you're a mimicker, you've already lost
>get rid of gaudy styling
Look at picrel. This was the last genuinely good looking Cadillac. All the newer ones like in OP are garish and discordant.
>muh willow springs laptimes of the blackwang
No matter how good it is to drive, if it doesn't look good, no one cares.

That design would just never work with modern design requirements. The Ciel was supposed to be a modern land yacht but they still put it on rubber bands and nigg rims. The closest you'd get to that would be a slammed GMC Sierra Denali with a trunk lid grafted onto the bed.
>>
>>28964773
well why don't they just make a "truck" i have no doubt it would sell like gangbusters
>>

It never lost its aura

this, caddy is still based. This is the king of modern luxury landbarges.

The Escalade, V trim especially is easily the king of the large luxo-SUVs but they desperately need a sedan of similar size to compete with the likes of the Phantom/Mulsanne/Maybach S and so on.
I know they know the Escalade prints money, but there's no reason not to have one even as a limited-production model. A full size coupe and convertible, too (like the concepts they never build). That shitty $300k EV is absolutely not what Cadillac should be, Cadillac should be a Rolls-sized car at a fraction of the price.
Hell, the Escalade even mogs the Cullinan in person. I'm not sure why RR didn't make it larger or offer a LWB model at least.

>What would Cadillac need to do to regain its aura?

They're one of the least fucked up brands left. They're still making two cool sedans. I wish they'd make a convertible again.
>>
>>28964776
They tried that with the Escalade EXT aka a Fancylanche. It sold like shit. The Lincoln truck also sold like shit. America is an odd place. People will happily spend $100k on a luxury trim pickup from the big 3 but they would never buy a $100k truck from the big 3's luxury divisions.

>>28964814
What's the Cullinan to Phantom sales ratio? I wouldn't be surprised if they sell more and more of the SUV variant every year. Sedans are just inferior. They've had their time.
>>
>>28964819
no not an suv, i mean a car so big it defies regulations, who gives a shit if its body on frame all the best cadillacs are
>>

>i mean a car so big it defies regulations, who gives a shit if its body on frame all the best cadillacs are
So just buy a luxury trim pickup truck and ignore the bed?
>>

are you stupid you nigger. fuck you. kill yourself.
>>
>>28964752
I agree. Literally nobody fucking wants this feminized ‘lyriq’ cringe bs.
They need to fire the women and do a Marlboro man / Apple I’m a Mac and I’m a pc.
Cadillac driven by Don Draper at an F1 race and rolls Royce driven by some tech dork Indian or something.

They literally DEI’d the non-V part if this brand. FWD dei slop next to some do the best sport sedans ever made. Somebody please fix this brand.

LETS TAKE THE CADILLAC. Is so bad and cringe and entry level Toyota shit. Have some swagger
>>
>>28964746
somehow the germans don't do any of this and browns still love them.

>Literally nobody fucking wants this feminized ‘lyriq’ cringe bs.
Old women do and GM prints money with a fancy Tweakuinox. This place really doesn't understand basic economics.
>>
Cadillac needs to become it's own car Company. Chevy is holding them back.

What they've done so far though has honestly been great. I hate EVs but they're at least trying to make them interesting. (Even if it's still not hitting)

May I present the 2025 XT5

GM would have to give them back their balls. Making the Eray was a mistake, the hybrid AWD pigfat C8 should have been a Cadillac grand touring car like a McLaren GT, with its own design language, nicer parts, and a higher price tag. The Elmiraj and Ciel would still do well today, the market is hurting for comfy slow convertibles badly enough that rich people are buying restored Mercedes convertibles, and BMW retired the 8. The CT6 and Ciel could share a platform, hybrid v6 or blackwing V8 depending on trim. Have their big boy lineup start at 80k and make sure the cars feel like 100k. Let the CT4 and 5 serve as an entry point and rowdy car for 35 year old managers, let women buy non-V Escalades and Lyriqs, have a couple of big fuck-you cars on the showroom floor as aspirations to walk down from or up to. Cadillac was so busy filling segments that it forgot image matters in luxury branding

WRONG
the germans have a dohc v8, they don't sell you fucking pushrods
and most of their platorms are newer
mercedes is definitely the best at not reusing ancient car platforms, but bmw isn't selling you a 15 year old "alpha" platform either

americans have a chance to make comfy cruisers with nice interiors and truly interesting designs and they just sell rebadged american cars and pickups, mostly suvs, with slightly nicer interiors but no dedicated rwd lux platforms
>>
>>28964741
Start making compact and mini SUVs to appeal to the 3rd world markets.

>>28964987
lol why does Eray sound like pig latin

Land yachts. All this SportShit is pointless now that tracks are going extinct and the roads are full of potholes. They need to be bentley or rolls but cheaper and more stylish. Focus on comfort. Suspension and seats can be soft too, you know?

thank god my state has S tier roads and my local track is alive and well.

No.
You may not.
It looks like a Buick cuckover.
>>
>>28964932
Yeah but that’s an old lady customer base they need to be a cool brand and attract young people not grandmas.
You don’t build a flagship luxury brand around grandmas. That’s why it’s a fucking dead brand that only sells cars to grandmas
>>
nothing modern cars don't have any tangible properties that you can assign value or prestige
theres nothing GM could make that isnt just another generic modern car
>>
>>28966421
they still make better driver's cars than BMW sadly. after all, they still cared enough to put a manual in their shit and now fall for the hybrid AWD meme to chase performance.
>>
>>28965219
>They need to be bentley or rolls but cheaper and more stylish. Focus on comfort. Suspension and seats can be soft too, you know?
You're describing a modern pickup truck.
