Is it worth it for someone with only the bare minimum amount of knowledge of DIY and mechanics (e.g., just basic maintenance knowledge) to attempt to convert a school bus into a "skoolie."
My current job requires me to move around a lot, and that usually means paying to stay in shitty motels, and I'd rather just have my own "place" to stay so I was thinking of either buying a motorhome or convert an old School Bus. I don't have much money to spend on some expensive motorhome either, so if I were to go that route it'd have to be an older one which would probably require quite a bit of work anyways.
Any advice? Should I go for the skoolie or the motorhome?
picunrel, as it would have to be a motorhome as I have nothing to haul an RV.

I’ve seen a similar thread before and iirc in most places you have to convert some things and register it as a motorhome.

do it pussy, you won't (cause youre a pussy)

I was expecting to have to convert some things, the point would be to turn it basically into an motorhome itself. Hence "skoolie". I was just wondering if the undertaking itself is worth it rather than just buying an old motorhome and fixing it up, but my issue with that is they're usually built out of fiberglass and quite shitty, while a school bus is pretty much just a shell you can retrofit however you like. I have no experience mind you, so this is why I'm wondering which of the two undertakings would be the easiest/better of the two options: (convert a school bus into a motorhome, or find some janky old ass motorhome and attempt to renovate it.)

And you're a dingbong pingpong. fag

Skoolies are bait though. You're better off with a box van, no kiked motorhome registration bullshit bc its your 'work van'

Where do you plan on parking it? Because even WalMart is starting to crack down on people permanently camping on their property. Most RV parks don't allow skoolies. You sure as hell won't be able to park it in a residential hood.

Ex-commercial vehicles can still be a bitch to register and insure. It can be hard to convince them you won't be using it for any commercial work.
