Why do inline four engines sound so good in bikes and so bad in cars?

>>28966645It has to do with rpm, lower rpm means the exhaust pulses can be heard. Bikes live higher in the rev range, cruising at 5k-7krpm means the exhaust sounds less farty. Large displacement low rpm vtwins have very distinct exhaust pulses which can sound as farty as cars

I4 cars do sound nice the problem is that hardly anyone knows how. It's like making an instrument. Too long, wrong shape, etc. will make it all sound different.
