I only seethe at LS swaps because quite frankly they are boring. You name the vehicle and someone, somewhere has probably put an LS in one. For the same reason I also seethe at K swaps.

I completely understand why people do it, and why it is so popular, but it's boring.

You'd be surprised, but people who have driven V8s don't care about gutless 4cyls ability to rev to the moon. An S2000 makes less hp and half the torque of a 2V Mustang at the end of the day, even though it revs 3k rpm higher.

K swaps are great in light cars. K swapped elise, mr2s, minis, even e30s are unfathomly based. But putting one in a vette is just quirky for the sake of it. It's like putting a 13b in an s2000.

I don't care what they do to their cars, just don't expect me to find it interesting. Yes, a Cummins or Detroit Diesel is far more interesting, and takes a lot more skill to accomplish. K Swaps and LS swaps are easy to do, and that is not a bad thing, but it has just made them the default engine.

Lets be honest. The original F series had "turbo lag" of its own. It didnt really wake up until 4-5k rpm.
With a small ball bearing turbo itll make boost under 2k rpm and probably push 300+ at the wheels pretty easily to get a V8 feel.
Or put a moderately sized turbo for some turbo lag and retain something closer to the old VTEC feel

It's probably objectively more fun with the LS, unfortunately. It doesn't gain a bunch of weight, but it gains a boatload of torque and power, and with no lag. Sure, a turbo F20 could easily make LS power, but NA response is just better. That's the whole reason I'm not an anti LS swap guy even though I get bored of seeing the same shit over and over. There's just no arguing with the instant torque and power of an NA V8, and LS engines aren't even heavy. Fake LS swaps with iron block truck engines are heavy, but real LS swaps aren't.

My god, why would you do that? I mean, the K series is a nice engine for a 4-banger and all, but it makes no sense to replace an LS with one. You're going to be way down on torque for not a whole lot in weight reduction once you factor in the weight of the turbo kit and intercooler.
