Europe is so far ahead the US when it comes to EV adoption it's not even funny
yet americans love to shit on Europeans for not innovating
>>
>>28967855
Using government subsidies and artificial anti gasoline laws is not innovation.
If you want to make the argument about innovation, Tesla is the best possible EV to buy right now.
But euros can't afford them.
>>
>>28967855
Ahead? They’re subsidizing it with their own money lmao. And their taxing gas to oblivion.
>>
Image how smug someone must feel right now for buying an EV in January 2026. Bring surrounded by people crying about the price of gas.
>>
>>28967861
It's comfy as fuck
we're making the world a better cleaner place
>>
>>28967861
People had time to adapt
there are plenty of cheap EVs on the market
>>
>>28967861

Brown hands typed this post.
>>
>>28967871
Europeans (whites) are buying EVs at a much higher rate than amerimutts (brown)
>>
>>28967874
>Europeans (whites)
Lol, lmao even.
>>
>>28967888
name a whiter continent/region of the world than Europe
Europe is the whitest and most educated region in the world
deal with it
>>
It makes sense to buy an EV if you're buying a new car because normal cars are so fucked over by emission regulations that the engineers have to add weight.

With limited domestic hydrocarbon resources, it makes no economic sense for Europe as a civilizational entity to tie itself to oil.

The potential stranded assets of oil majors and legacy automakers is not the broader civilization's problem.

Just proves my post isn't AI cause I made a keyboard input error.
>>
>>28967858
There are a ton of model Y here, but sales have tanked after Elon's excursion into politics and European companies catching up.
I wouldn't say that Tesla is still the best electric car you can get - maybe more so in the US, because you need their charging infrastructure there, but in Europe there are plenty of alternatives.
Some of Teslas "Innovations" are outright shit - like the ipad bullshit that everyone is copying.
>>
>mfw going on a road trip using entirely renewable energy source as fuel
EV is top feel good cars.
>>
>>28967858
>Using government subsidies
lol, Tesla alone has more government subsidies than the entire European and Chinese EV industries combined
>>
>>28967858
Teslas are unreliable garbage, used 3-5 yo ones cost nothing here because everyone knows they're utter shit.
>>
>>28967952
>has
source?
>>
>>28967855
Europeans have 230V and 400V in their households which makes home charging more feasible. Furthermore they drive shorter distances so cars with a range below 1Mm aren't a notable issue.
>>
>>28967952
Not even close.
Chinese fund their EVs 100%
Current Euro EVs are 50%+ subsidized
The most we saw was $7,500 for tax credits, but that's over

>>28967955
Still world's better than Chinese or Euro EVs.

>>28967964
Ya but that's 220v with low amperage abilities.
Euro fags always forget that.
Those have around 15amps just like US 110v does.
Not enough to charge EVs.
>>
>>28967977
3 phase 400V (230 between phase and zero) at 16 A is 11kW, which works fairly well for EV charging.
>>
>>28967977
A 120v 12amp charge works for like half of Americans in areas that don't go below freezing. Europeans drive less miles on average and more mild weather.
>>
>>28967999
That's 1.4kW. This needs 55 hours to charge a 80kWh battery.
>>
>>28968003
50 miles per day/ 4 miles per kWh = 12.5 kWh per day
12.5kWh per day / 1.4 kW = 9 hours per day
>>
Tesla won where it matters
>>
EVs are awesome. I love how quiet and responsive they are. Going from an old ICE to a new EV is like going from a granny with arthritis to a hot 20 year old that will make you love your life again.
>>
>>28967982
And even 230V at 16A is 3680W. That's why electric kettles are common in Europe but rare in the US.
>>
>>28968059
LOL
>>
>>28968082
Don't catch your ICE car with a bad menopause mood swing again. It might crap out on you on the highway again.
>>
>>28968084
LOL

American education, everyone.

Aren't you supposed to speak English over there?

>Suvrat Kothari
>>
>>28969355
list their "subsidies" then. be sure to only list active subsidies using a very strict definition of the word subsidy that doesn't include loans or any other indirect funding.

Europe and especially Scandinavia is ahead of the curve. For most people, there is little reason not to go full electric. It would benefit us all if they did and ICE became an enthusiast drive train.

Mutts and jeets will be the last to learn, as always.
>>
>>28968077
>And even 230V at 16A is 3680W.
Yabbut it has to be on a separate circuit, and preferably a 20A one (so you don't cook the wires). Having an electric car draw 16A continuously over 8 hours is quite different from an electric kettle pulling 12A for a max of 3 minutes.
>>
>buy an EV
>"haha, electricity is le cheap!"
>Data center opens next door.
>oops, electrons now cost 9x more than before

Seems like a great idea.
>>
>>28969415
Put more solar panels on your roof.
>>
Do they make larger (than a hatchback) EVs without all the horrible modern car nannyshit, software updates, and tablet dashboards?
>>
>>28969365
NTA, but tax breaks, preferential real estate siting, preferential reduced utility pricing, and other enablements constitute subsidization. This was confirmed in the Boeing vs. Airbus case at the WTO, when the ruling board noted that subsidies were applied in both instances, only the vehicle (indirect for Boeing vs. direct for Airbus) differed.

oh really? I can buy a working petrol car for a thousand euros and drive it for years with only minor maintenance. I doubt I'll be able to get a EV below 10 grand without immediately having to spend tens of thousands on a battery replacement.
>>
>>28970281
Lmao you're not getting a car in full working order that only needs minor maintenance for 1k.
>>
>>28970295
Not that anon, but I did for 600€.
Got a Škoda Felicia diesel wagon as my commuter, just passed inspection with no defects or faults, only changed the oil on it just in case and did the brakes, 150 bucks extra.

Admittedly it's not in "fully working order" because the trunk only opens from the inside latch, the lock and button on the trunk door are seized. Luckily the latch is right next to the drivers seat, so I ain't too bothered.
>>
>>28970296
I really, seriously doubt a 25+ year old shitbox is in immaculate condition, it's probably overdue a ton of maintenance items and leaks every fluid but it turns on and drives.
>>
>>28970295
>>28970305
an old petrol or diesel shitbox can usually be fixed without having to spend too much money. an EV shitbox can't because the cost of the battery alone is several times more than what the car is worth. therefore old EVs will end up being scrapped and there won't be a supply of old cheap EVs.
>>
>>28967858
I didn't get any government subsidies. There are no anti gasoline laws. There are loads of Teslas here, but more and more other EV's that are new and aren't just the same as when they were first made. I could have bought a Tesla, but I would rather shive pine cones up my arse so bought a Volvo instead
>>
>>28970309
Newer EVs have batteries rated for 250k+ miles so it's only a matter of time till we get cheap electroboxes
>>
>>28970255
From 2035 onward you will no longer be able to register new ICE except for some ultra specific niche that doesn't matter at all.
There is no fixed date for a ban to operate ICE on public roads.
Hydrogen combustion may be exempt, similarly other carbon free fuels, but those are irrelevant either way.
This also only applies to regular cars and motorcycles. Trucks, tractors etc have different rules.
>>
>>28970188
Tesla only has two cars to sell. VW, BMW, Volvo have countless ones. In total brand sales, Tesla is fairly irrelevant in Europe.
>>
>>28967852
These threads are shit out by the same 4 chicoms unfortunate enough to be assigned /o/ as their designated target
>>
>>28970451
It will never happen. They have already moved the date and will do so again. Without infrastructure it can't be done, and car companies will butter the parnsips of the government and all will be forgotten
>>
>>28970728
They haven't moved the date at all. Car companies are fine with selling EVs. Infrastructure is already spread in Europe and is only expanding, unlike hydrogen for instance. Norway has already achieved 98% EV for new cars and various other countries are past 50%.
