So, the state that kickstarts fuel and emissions mandates, which led to carmakers using less-grippy tires, wants to mandate that you can’t have more grip than stock?
Where does safety factor into this?

Cite a primary source or fuck the fuck off.
No, eCelebs are not a primary source.

these idiots sit around all day coming up with idiotic nonsense just to justify their bullshit job.

>Full of exemptions, basically only applies to normieboxes
Don't care. They should be on low rolling resistance tires to begin with.
>>
>>28968670
>OI! You got a loicense to buy those tires?!

>>28968670
>only applies to normieboxes
But that applies to you to anon

So it's just mandatory efficiency rating on the label? Literally nothingburger

wow it's literally nothing

So it just affects The Poors.
Pablo (continues) to get shit tires from walmart for his civic and Chad gets cup2s for his Camaro.

Sounds like this law/ruling shouldn't exist, yet it apparently does. Why? Probably to get the camel's nose in the tent for further overreaches because of:

>Don't care

Motherfucker, that's how we got where we are. Way past time to stop this regulatory shit before it begins.
>>
At this point, if you willingly live in California you deserve every restriction they force upon you.
>>
>>28968635
take the hint poorfags, california is only for the wealthy wealthy. Idaho is calling you
>>
>>28970744
Or New Mexico.
>>
>>28970125
Isn't Australia already like this with tires? Is California just going to go full nanny state?
>>
Dont see the problem they want tires to last a bit longer. That is pretty reasonable considering how much waste tires are.
>>
>>28968635
So basically car tire manufacturers should begin using more renewable plant based materials for building new tire rubbers. Pineoil, rapeseed oil, rice husks are already proven to be good and reliable materials for car tires. guayule shrub's probably also would be good material. Easy way to reduce tire rolling resistance and emissions without reducing traction, tire dread depth and tire lifespan. Actually rapeseed oil helps to improve traction on winter tires. Nokian tires have been doing this for above 13 years, about 1 or 2 years ago Continental joined in with their UltraContact NXT summer tire. Those tire manufacturers who cant do this properly really should go bankrupt.
>>
>>28970796
tires are one of the most recycled items in the US. almost all of every used tire is repurposed or reused in some way, and our ability to do that is improving every year. this has nothing to do with saving the environment and has everything to do with political grandstanding, virtue signaling, and government overreach, control, and corruption, all at the expense of the citizens.
>>
>>28970803
It's not about extending tire life, it's about not increasing rolling resistance with grippier tires which lowers your fuel economy. Basically more CAFE bullshit.
>>
>>28970827
i believe most car manufacturers have already minmaxed their overall tire and aero packages (or are close to it) to meet cafe requirements, as they get impossibly more strict every year. of course some low volume cars are exceptions but they're averaged out by the cash cow commuter mobiles that the vast majority of people buy. so i don't know why they feel they'd need to pile on top of that if that is their intention. regardless even if this is a means to try to reimplement what the trump EPA has gutted in terms of CAFE regulations, it's still fundamentally based on a false premise and doesn't change that it's all performative bullshit likely rife with kickbacks to sweeten the deal.
>>
>>28968670
Ah so you're retarded. My bad.
>>
>>28970846
The low volume exemption alone is going to cover whatever kind of performance or off-road tire you want. If you're too stupid to understand why you should have low rolling resistance tires on your generic peoplemover, this is probably not the only decision you need someone else to make for you.
>>
>>28971093
i'll never understand the incessant need some full grown adults have for having their lives micromanaged by complete strangers, being told what they can and can't do in every aspect of their lives. is it like an arrested development thing? free choice is too scary, miss mommy and daddy?
>>
>>28971127
I'm not having my life micromanaged. Nothing would change for me if a copy of this law were implemented where I live. Low rolling resistance tires are the smart choice for boring cars, so why should I care if the stupid choices go away? I already pointed out that it's not going to affect any kind of fun vehicle.
>>
>>28968641
I really hope some based retard government mandates rock hard tyres that last forever for environmental reasons
