just inherited my dad's 2003 Montero Sport. 200k miles, runs great, gas mileage sucks, things that slide and turn feel sticky or are about to break.Best I can get for it is 2k-3k, which seems insignificant given the memories. What should I do with it br/o/s?
>>28971135DUI into a tree, it's what dad would've done
>>28971135if it's 4x4, lift it and get some bigger tires. fun offroad vehicle. if it's 2x4, repair what stuff makes sense to repair and use it as a backup/work and chores vehicle until it dies. they weren't exceptional vehicles by any means, but they aren't worthless either.
>>289711502x4 and it's already repaired, thinking I can find a collector or something. Keeping it falls in a happy middle of "it's nice to have", but I don't really have a use for it.
Don't do anything with it dumbass.Just drive it as is till it dies and then sell it or keep it next to the shed, but certainty don't "do" anything with it.If you want to "do" something with a car there's 10 other better options in every category that won't be a complete waste of time and money.
>>28971188so installing a back camera and android auto is out then?
>>28971135>any Mitsubishi in the US>still runs
>>28971224They mean expensive repairs anon. cheap stuff like that is fine. just realize what you have isn't amazing and ride it till the wheels fall off.
>>28971230compare it to any car available on the market for under 5k and it starts to look pretty amazing. Definitely worth doing oil changes, timing belt if applicable etc.
>>28971226Are you sure about that
>>28971135We bought an ‘04 AWD version in 2005 and drove it for 260k miles before the transmission shit the bed. One of the lowest total cost of ownership vehicles I’ve owned. NEver had problems with it and you still see these on the road in middle America. True body on frame truck and not fuckhuge like anything from 2010 onward. I’d say keep it as a backup vehicle unless you really really have enough shitboxes, in which case sell it before maybe 230k miles. I’d think more like 3-5kWish they still made these, great trucks.
>>28971268yea, the transmission's remaining lifespan scares me
>>28971135The OG V6 Challenger.
>>28971288drain and fill
take a picture it'll last longer
>>28971253>Are you sure about that>354,784 milesYes.
