Now that the rubber has been laid, why was NASCAR's gen-7 car so bad?
>>28971645when sedans are finally discontinued are they going to make crossover SUV NASCAR vehicles?
>>28971649They already planned an electric SUV series for a reason with the lobbying from manufacturers, though mainly Ford since Ford doesn't make cars anymore.
>>28971645Who even watches this boring shit.
>>28971660me
>>28971645it has a few problems but the general goal of “keep the cars closer together” has been achieved. you don’t see dick stompings like MTJ at charlotte in 2016 anymore. the biggest problem is horsepower, these cars should be screaming into the corner at 200mph, and theyre not because they don’t have 800hp
"The Car of Tomorrow" was such a stupid name for gen 5. Like "Post-modernism" or "Nintendo New 3DS". Naming something new/current/future is so stupid because it will become old.
>>28971645People still watch NASCAR?
>>28971650Grim. And you pigs will eat it up right from the troft still

>>28971660nascar fans are basically just alcoholics who do nothing but whine about how it was ruined when it became safer while lamenting dale's death in the same sentence
fully independent suspension instead of front double bones and rear live axle means the cars are more fragile and can't doorbang despite being faster and handling better.
>>28972337it was ruined when dale died because the sport lost its biggest hero, one of the last guys to come from the heartland of stock car racing who cut his teeth against the greats like richard petty. dale sacrificed a lot to be a racer and was about as down-to-earth as you can get.people stopped watching nascar because the drivers that came after him have all been emotionless robot nepobabies who get bought into the sport by ancestry and don't really interact with each other or with the public. kyle busch, one of the winningest drivers of the modern era, just died of a brain hemorrhage and literally nobody fucking cared. in fact most longtime nascar fans probably went "good".meanwhile dale "and if you see jeff gordon put that sumbitch in the wall" earnhardt has been dead for 24 years and is still revered to this day
>>28972354It's crazy watching Stapleton42's stuff and seeing how normal and cool the '90s greats are. You can't imagine that shit with the current top drivers, at best they're just painfully generic. It's also wild that fucking Cleetus, a guy who based his entire persona around a parody of stereotypical old-school NASCAR drivers, is now the only interesting driver in the sport and the closest thing TO one of those real old-school drivers. Confidentially, I just wrote a paper about NASCAR going to shit over the last 20 years for a class. They basically did the same shit game devs have gotten burned by in recent years, getting rid of everything their core audiences liked in a failed attempt to appeal to new audiences. Drivers were a big part but it's also the tracks, the cars, and the rules of the whole sport. At least NASCAR is trying, with shit like getting rid of the Chase but it's still way too little.
>>28971669>the biggest problem is horsepowerI agree, although I'm new to watching NASCAR. I started watching when SVG arrived.
>>28972354Tell me more about NASCAR. I wasn't there for any of the good stuff, and there are too many commercial breaks now for me to enjoy watching.
>>28972405can I read your paper? If not, I understand.
