which is the best brand new v8 pickup on the market today?toyota swtiched to exploding v6's. nissan are notoriously unreliable, same with ram garbage. literally what is left, just chevy and ford??
>>28973652Sadly it's the F-250 with the 7.3 Godzilla. Second best would be the the GM 6.6 gasser. I think you gotta be insane to buy any V8 half ton. I wouldn't even trust one on a lease.
>>28973658F-250 7.3 is effectively an updated 460. Went back to the roots of push gods. OHV so the engine bay is extra roomy for wrenchers. If I were buying new coming from a 351, I'd get a 7.3 or the half ton power boost. Honestly getting a 2026 right before they cram the AI chip in it might be the move, wouldn't be my daily, just sit in the driveway, but thing might last decades.

>>28973674>F-250 7.3 is effectively an updated 460Except it's a small block which is kinda meh. A gasser based off of the new Powerstroke 8.0 block would be based.
Love my GM 5.3 with the 10 speedEasily get 22mpg and its fast af
coyote f150, super duty, or gm. with any of the v8s, especially with modern long oil change intervals, you want to check oil lvels. they've always burned some by the time they get to 3k+ miles. my ole 2005 gm needs a quart added by the time .I hit 3k miles, but she's still goin. the pushrod options in the gm and super duty are the most simple and easy to wrench on, but I really like the styling on the f150 the best and coyote has been around for some time now. there is ZERO point in getting a super duty however unless you're getting it in 4x4, otherwise what's the point in having a solid front axle.
>>28974424Engines with pushrods are simple hence manly and truckworthy. OHC with all of its needless moving parts not so much. Woulnd't be me !
