I made a wheelie todayIt was scary as fuck but also pretty cool, how do I make more wheelies without eventually crashing? I should keep foot over the rear brake right
>>28975808ok
>>28975811wow i never even accidentaly wheelied my 'kui tried doing the full lock sliding turn on dirt a couple of times but i chicken out and can't break traction to make it slide around me
>>28975820cute post!
>>28975751>>28975801i dont think these 2 problems can be solved by pissing yourselfyou may have missed the point of my post

>>28975595>the black latch hooks over the pin that sticks out of the plunger>one removed from the bike doesn't compress far enough for that to be possible>given how easily you're able to compress it So if that black bracket is not a ratchet, what are the teeth for on the piston? Where's the ratchet that is supposed to stop tensioner from compressing when installed in the bike? If my tensioner compresses all the way until stopping on spring wire bowtie - does that mean it is broken?I thought cam chain tensioners only supposed to extend but not compress. My idea is that as cam chain is looseing overtime, tensioner would extend through the teeth but ratchet would prevent it from compressing backward.Mine compresses backward with minimum effort.
>>28975892>>28975595>the black latch hooks over the pin that sticks out of the plungerYou are right. New 20S12210100 are shipped with black latch hooked over pin that sticks out of plunger/piston.I am going to assume that that shit-ass piece of spring tied in a bowtie around the plunger IS the ratchet. And mine was on the last tooth after I have taken it out.Two possibilities:1) when you take tensioner out, it loses compression against cam chain follower and thus extends all the way, clicking through teeth on the spring wire bowtie ratchet2) my cam chain is so loose that tensioner is naturally on its last toothI've put tensioner in as it currently is at the bottom pic = the ratchet is on the last tooth so tensioner is in a MAX extended position. The cam chain doesn't fucking budge when I try to pry it with screwdriver handle. It is TIGHT.I don't know how much play is it supposed to have, should I leave tensioner like this or move ratchet up few teeth so it has more space to extend naturally to expected distance?IDFK how I will achieve that given that it clicked through all teeth while I was taking it out, presumably.
>>28975892Those notches wouldn't work to hold the plunger in using the black latch, they're angled in the wrong direction. It almost seems like the clip should be on the furthest out notch, then when the tensioner is installed in the compressed state as the plunger extends over time as stuff wears it will move out, the clip will slide down, but because it can't slide in the other direction it will stop the plunger being able to going back in too far. That's my guess, yours has worn all the way so the tensioner is now at full extension.
>>28975915Yeah the clip (that I called spring wire bowtie before) is at the last tooth. But I don't know if it was there before I've taken tensioner out or it clicked through teeth in the process.Given that before taking tensioner out, the chain had slack, not much but I can see a little play when touching it.After I reinstalled the tensioner - there is no play in the chain.I think tensioner was not on the last tooth originally, it clicked through the teeth to full extension when I've taken it out.The question is do I leave it as is or try to compress it to more modest length?
>>28975820it was only half accidentally. Adjusted suspension and it felt very light so I was trying to rock the bike and forth a bit while riding and thought what if I rock it back and bit the throttle and it just worked> chicken out and can't break traction sliding turns on sand are fun, worst case you low side it pretty slowly and it barely hurts. if you counter lean it’s very controllable
Guys what could i realistically trade the crf450rl timeline express for in another bike, what would be a good trsder to try something new?Theres a sv650 i was thinking about cause it has the cafe racer type mod from factory, and it would be easy to make it a tanto upgrade heqdlight asaembly modIdk how to lowball myself on this bike or if im giving it away to cousin farm timeline, hes unresponaive and doing remote work it seems11th is when the insurance jannids are basically cooked and i eithwr have to renews or go forever 1%er ststus if i want to rideBut if i traded this 'ku fir another 'ku, and you were in my clownshoes, with or without stealership network status: confirmed, what 'ku do you trade for, and assumed $0 syrup token transfers or deductions
>>28975964I could mod it into one of these, get the miku express bucket, redeem r3 from his countersteering incident with a successive bucket transfer to the Shoom-i-verse™, and thus prevent the destruction of the nobike citadel?
???
>>28975984Cruiser gear?
>>28975919Ah yeah, that could have definitely happened. It looks like you can squeeze the ends of the clip with some pliers to open it up and then compress the plunger. Do you actually know if your tensioner needs replacing? My assumption is that it's the oil pressure that provides the majority of the tension and so with the engine off you will feel some slack in the chain, given how weak the spring force is I think it's just there to make sure it's not just flopping about when there's no oil pressure.
>>28975834i used to have the full video from this and it was both hilarious and sexy. they just keep yelling at the dog like SADIE WHAT ARE YOU DOING, STOP and it just keeps pissing
>>28975717>just put a deposit down on a '25 Tenere 700Why did you go with the T7?
found a copy of "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" for like 3$, what am i in for 2 stroke bicycle moped conversion kit rider btw also i put my clutch on the right hand side like a dummy and now im used to it, how much will this fuck me up for real bikes and how hard is it to move the clutch line on a real bike if i want to
>>28976018>found a copy of "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" for like 3$, what am i in forA book that is nothing about motorcycles
>>28975964>>28975972tanto sv looks good! i don't know shoom you kinda just had a fast af shoomer kawi, maybe something a bit more relaxed? i don't know how's the market for a crf and other bikes in maplecountry but if you could find a guzzi v7 you could start a cool uncle saga with one of those very peculiar V twins that shake a lot and with the clunky gearbox by design. i don't think you could get to trade the crf for something with a boxer twin but maybe you can also find an old R1200R? the 2009-2014 one.Advdad says that the boxer twin is very special and you have to try it at least once and both options you have shaft drive so you don't explode another chain if you tour with them and they are a bit more "unique engines".>>28975954oh i was talking about turning it 90/180 by sliding the rear to turn back on dirt, not sliding DURING turns but i really wish i could learn how to do cool stuff like that. maybe in the future.I'm still super tempted to get a crf but ironically the pre-2024 beta alp is even better but i can't find one close to me, i want to return as beta-anon but now with dual sport certification but it seems it might be harder and will have to keep pushing the svartpilen to it's offroad limit instead
>>28976024>A book that is nothing about motorcyclessick. will it be still fun but also are there any Books of Canon for small 2-strokes, preferably for those on shitty frames
>>28976024Really? I read the first chapter and it was about motorcycles, and how Boomer Bob didn't fiddle with the choke ever but his boy friend did.
Anon with F800GT can u tell more about the bike? I vaguely remember you were in the middle of repair, what was it?
>>28976018>how much will this fuck me up for real bikesI doubt it, I never get confused going between my mountain bike where the rear brake is the right lever and the front brake is the left. You'd think it would mess with your head but it just doesn't.
>>28976046I have unironically never rode a real motorbike. is the rear brake on the left-hand lever? i looked about to check my work too late after installing it all and thought it was clutch on the left and front brake on the right with rear brake on a foot pedal on a real motorcycle
>>28976028OnsASS
>>28976048By "mountain bike" I mean my pedal bike. I think you'll be good to leave it, I know I'd be too lazy to redo it. Your brain will adjust to the different configurations. >thought it was clutch on the left and front brake on the right with rear brake on a foot pedal on a real motorcycleYeah that's right
>>28975797Next time make the new thread yourself then, I just copied the last OP.>>28976017Seemed like the right bike for my wants and needs. Needed something that would be comfortable on highways, but also honestly would like to try some light offroading that my last bike had trouble with because you don't have to worry about cars on dirt. Basically, I needed a bike that could do it all. Thought about the KLE 500, KLR 650, Honda Transalp, and Aprilia Tuareg but ultimately went with the T7 for, in order: more power, better highway comfort, better low end power, and better reliability. There're no right answers, but this one seems to fit my needs for now. I hope so anyway, otherwise you guys will get to have a good laugh at my expense in the upcoming months.
>>28976056ok fair enough. honestly im a poorfag so ill probably never have a license because i need a full on car to get a license for a motorbike>By "mountain bike" I mean my pedal bikei figured, rear brake on bikes is almost always on the right hand afaik. i've just been preferring the front because of a mixture of driving game inspired larp about how front braking is better for suspension loading and my rear brakes do not exist
What's the point of Honda's e-clutch? Why not just buy a bike with a quickshifter if I want clutch lever-less shifts? Or a AMT if I don't want to use my clutch at all?
>>28976064>and my rear brakes do not existKek based. Having good front brake control is definitely good. Rear is good for low traction I guess. I dropped my bike using the front brake on snow once and another time on gravel.
>>28976065>What's the point of Honda's e-clutch?Firsf I've heard of it but Google says you can stop without stalling. That seems kinda nice I guess. But I'm in the fuck electric gizmos camp. Who even needs quickshift? I can shift my Harley without the clutch I think sport bike fags can manage the same>noooo I can't let off the throttle for even one microsecond
>>28976066for the brief like month i had a rear brake i only liked it because there was snow>I dropped my bike using the front brake on snow once and another time on gravel.same, i ate shit just trying to stop completely on a Multi Use Path on my old e-bike because there was black ice, and recently took the moped to a short section of trail to try it out and almost ate shit somehow even harder than on the ice front-braking hard because they made the trail literally end in a wall after a blind corner
>>28976068>>noooo I can't let off the throttle for even one microsecondunironically i want to get a replacement drive sproket for my moped so i can run the chain through the derailleur. you can literally only shift under power and if you stall and are in 7th, well, guess you gotta use your hands
>>28975964Aren't you in canada jail?
>>28976077canada IS jail
Suzuki GSX-R 600 weighs 190kg. Is there a similarly weighing 600cc inline four bike but with more straight seating position? Older ones are fine as well.
>>28976065Why don't they just put little torque converters in motorcycles instead?
>>28976080Isn't that what the gsx-s is?
>>28976080>>28976086Oh wait that's mostly 1000cc and it says a discontinued 750.

>>28976065E-clutch is theoretically more capable than a quickshifter, especially without a slipper clutch which costs more than a servo and some software.
