is it true that Chebby vehicles almost always drive better than the direct competitors from Ford?
>>
>>28976428
I have no idea ,I am not American
>>
Cheb obviously.
>>
I wouldn't trust a Ford truck if my life depended on it.
>>
>>28976493
what about a ram truck
>>
they say ford rides good while unloaded
>>
it really depends on what segment you're talking about. chevy barely does anything good anymore besdes trucks. but they do it the best when it comes to powertrain, everything else is average about it. ford finally went back to pushrods for the superduty, which is great and narrows the gap, plus it has a solid front axle if you care about that for off roading. ford has slimey dealerships though and some bad track records with certain reliability/design issues/racalls. they do cars way better than chevy though. seems like cars are an afterthought for chevy. back in the early 90s, ford was better with trucks, but by the late 90s gm had eclipsed them. if I got a ford truck, it would be a 4wd super duty with the godzilla. otherwise it's gm all day. bronco with a manual too, or a regular cab f150 with the 5.0.
>>
Chevy is hands down way more shit. Always copying Ford. Chevrogay owners always coping, too.
>>
In yurop Ferd is just better.
I'm sorry but both Opel and Vauxhall are embarrassments to the auto industry
>>
>>28976677
that's because most euro fords are euro designed, not american. cosworth is responsible for all of the best ford powertrains. vauxhaul and opel is the same thing, it's not american designed, but euro designed.
>>
DodgeRam shits on both
>>
Ford wins in trucks
Chevy wins in sports cars (camaro/corvette/cadillac blackwing vs just the mustang)
In terms of the econoboxes/crossovers/suvs Ford wins.
The ford explorer is kind of compelling with the 3.0 twin turbo v6
The bronco has no competitor from chevy
Chevy puts 1.5 turbo in everything, ford still keeping 2.0 turbo (both slop but at least ford giving a bigger engine)
>>
>>28976691
cucksworth hasn't worked on anything ford related in awhile.
>>
>>28976828
all of the good i4, v6, and now turbo ford motors of the last decades were cosworth or inspired by things learned from cosworth. it's the same way in which many good toyota engines are yamaha collabs. gm does one thing good, pushrod v8s. that's because they stuck to the same formula the entire time when everyone else was experimenting with other shit.

As a Ford owner, buy the Chevy.
I imagine the Chevy owner will say the same thing about Ford lmao. Why can't we make a fucking decent truck anymore?

Learned to drive in my dad's Chevy Silverado (2008) and then ended up in a Focus for the first car I bought. Which honestly Ford was not at all on my radar. Alternated between the van offerings in the Navy for in between duty stations. Still own the Focus and picked up a 94 F150. Also had a Mazda for a minute. Drive feel is just better in the Fords. In laws all drive Chevys but still respect Ford and hold the opinion that Ford has historically been better about handling recalls than Chevy.
You should stop debating and just pick up whatever car or truck meets your specs.

I had horrendous experiance with recalls on two different fords. they "repaired" all of them like they were supposed to, but the problem is that the repair never fixed anything. ford just kept replacing the faulty designed parts. they got away with it too as most people were so fed up they just got rid of the vehicles an moved on. one was an abs proportioning pump which would literally make the brake pedal go to the floor and brakes not work at random times, usually under hard braking in the rain where abs would normally kick in. needless to say I'm 100% certain many people died and they never found the cause probably.
>>
>>28977565
do you not remember the entire era where ford auto transmissions were taking shits? it was like 2012-2018 across multiple models of cars.half of them never even made it out of warranty period, the others happened right after it was out of warranty. they had trouble selling all the focus off the lots once people found out. that's why that generation of focus was considered a complete dud compared to previous well-received gens.
>>
>>28977555
You fell for the working man costume. If you needed a truck the boss would give you one. If you want a truck, buy the most useful one. The crew cab short bed.

Fords are honest cars.

Ford holds the record for most vehicle recalls
>>
>>28977953
is that per capita
>>
>>28977953
Not defending Ford but you have to look at the type of recall.
>massive Tesla "recall" because 1 vehicle had an issue. Fixed by an over the air patch.
>massive Toyota recall. Dealer parking lots packed full of crate engines to be swapped because metal shavings were eating bearings.

Those 2 recalls are
>>
>>28977805
I have it in my Focus, new TCM model fixes it finally and most are making it to 180-200k before finally dying and getting the MTX75 swap. Rest of the car is a perfect econocar. I'll be doing the swap in a decade when my mileage gets there.
>>28977953
Yeah they recall everything that ranges from minor to major. Had a recall on my door latch even, some thing in my fuel tank for vacuum, and the PCV. Some of these minor ones in surprised they would even bother with issuing a recall.
>>
>>28977991
>>28978033
yeah you can frame it both ways
>their cars are so bad look at all these recalls
or
>they are always careful to correct even small mistakes they make at their own expense
>>
>>28976427
ford.
chebby tried to make they way trough the world buying brands like saab and opel and then trying to run them as an american company. well guess what that didnt work. meanhwile we got ford. ford germany, ford uk, ford turkey (?) ford australia, ford south africa, ford everywhere. it is a proof that the american business mindset is crap. they think they can use that business mind everywhere, but they cant.

I like the corvette a lot but other than that it’s ford

>>
>>28978170
Bro thinks it's still 2010.
>>
>>28978177
5.0 is still in the modular family.
>>
>>28978181
Not for almost 10 years. Literally all it shares is that it's 5 liters. The coyote absolutely shits on any LS. It's embarrassing how anemic GM engines still are, yet they keep getting away with it because of goodgoys.
>>
>>28976427
up to 2013? chevy
after direct injection? ford, but only the 3.7, 5.0, 6.2
after the 10 speed? lol nothing
>>
>>28978203
Ford themselves still use the term "modular", even for the current direct injection iteration, I think I'll believe them over some rando on 4chan.

>no argument
I accept your concession
>>
>>28978354
We went over this.
Having a recall because the computer miscalculated how many miles are left before the tank is empty is not the same as having a recall because the frame rusted out and snapped in half.
>>
>>28978293
The term "modular" was actually for a new system of machining and assembly that could be easily switched out, not the engine platform.
It was confusing because it coincided with a common engine design that could be easily changed/upgraded to a different configuration.

>>28978443
Its kind of like how an SBC is just defined by a certain bore spacing, the old iron SBCs are not the same as an LS, and the LT is also another clean-sheet, they just share geometry.
>>
>>28978432
That'd be real cool if the products werent shit. Who cares about manufacturing processes for garbage?
>>
>>28978463
ford doesnt produce garbage, they win formula one world championships. chevy could never.
>>
>>28977819
how is a back seat and a gimped bed useful?
>>
>>28978443
>>
>>28978629
Yes and? It's still what the engine family is called, the tooling design is simply what it's named after.
>>
>>28978638
Yes.
Thats my point.

But its not "modular" because you can bolt different parts on it like people think.

BTW.
351's were named after the first foundry they were cast in (regardless of where producrion moved to afterwards).
W= Windsor
C= Cleveland
M= Michegan (not "Modified")
>>
not a debate if you're not retarded. even with the massive privacy oversteps id still buy a ford over any gm vehicle past 2008.
>>
>>28976427
They're both shit.
Mopar or no car, faggot!
>>
>>28978203
even an ancient ass hemi shits on every LS every passing year proves that gm should've never been saved.
>>
>>28978462
The ls is just a Windsor 2.0.
>>
>>28978678
Wierd how they're new Hemis just make noise. Pulling out or merging in a v8 ram 1500 feels worse than my friggen civic. It's fuckin embarrassing
>>
>>28978649
Ok and? My point was never that it was "modular" in that sense, you just pissed and moaned the instant I called it the name everyone else calls it.
>>
>>28978718
should just be the same shit with a different engine cover to fit etorque. still havent seen many new hemis yet tho.
