what was the best generation of F-150s?
It's mostly about what engine it has. I'd say 13th gen (2017-2020, 15-16 had issues) with a 5L is solid pick because 13th gen is when they got significantly lighter from using aluminum
>>28978949Probably whatever gen had the 300 i6 even though I see maybe 5 of them a year. They got worse and worse after that. The newest gen is a good bet of you want something fast.
>>289789499th. 92-97. Last of the square bodies.
>>28978978Dentside, bullnose, and bricknose were "square". The aeronose 9th gen isnt square. Also, "square bodies" are exclusively 73-87 Chevy/GMC C/K series, and 88-91 R/V series
>>28978977The 300/4.9 is a tractor engine. They're not some magical beast. Theyre just boomer lore. By your own admission you hardly.see them anymore.Ive had every version of it.
>>28978966this is literall why ai was created it can scour the internet for all the facts and compile and simple answer. subjective faggots begone here are the facts
>>28979628>ecoboost>good at anything besides blowing up AGI never ever
Y-you brought your own Armstrong Cheese?>Of course, I love it!
>>28979602Basically this anytime someone posts about the 300. Great engine if you never take the truck off the farm.
>>28978949First Gen raptor. One of the best gas engines ever made out of the 3/4 super duty combined with the best suspension setup available for a factory truck at the time.More modern raptors are more capable but none are as reliable and durable as the og.
>>28979683There used to be this massive "6=8" crowd. Websites devoted entirely to the 300/4.9.Im sure they still exist to some degree but specific forums ive tried to find are gone.If I bought a truck with one (again) I wouldnt pull it if it was running good. But if it died I'd pull it and drop a small block in its place (again).I'd never build one for a swap unless I was doing some quirky open hood build like a '32 rat rod or something. Its not a "bad" engine. Its just a cheap basic bitch poverty spec motor.
>>28979628>the facts>a reddit post
This is probably my favorite F-150. The OBS and Jellybean Lightnings are pretty cool too.
>>28979781forgot pic
>>28979783My 5.4l one has been great. I love it. Easily the best vehicle I've ever owned.Id definitely get the 6.2l if doing it again but for as cheap as these are now it's a no brainer
>>28979775I'm happy with my 351. Might like a 460 one day. Everyone keeps saying the sbfs can be gutless, but pretty sure it's a matter of Ford equipping them with 3.08s
>>28979798I'd think about buying one if they didn't all have accident history or branded titles.
>>289789491967-1972 is the GOAT followed closely by 1973-1979.
>>28979808I prefer the FE block.Great design that doesnt get enough love nowadays.
11th/12th gen for me.
>>28979842They honestly regressed styling wise with the 13th gen. Looks less modern imo than a 2015 imo.Not hating it as it looks great it just doesn't feel as modern as the 15s face.
>>289798422>4>1>5>7>6>3>8>9>power gap>10Everything else can be lumped together.
>>28979841same. One of these days I'll have a 427 or 428.
>>28978949Any of the aluminum ones I would think. People talk highly of the ones with the 6 speed over the 10th they are all pretty robust. Both 5.0 and 3.5 are pretty good, just depends on what you want. Stock i think I’d rather have the 3.5
11th gen cuz they did interesting thing with it like the lil doors on the regular cabs, the option to configure in super cab 5.5 bed, seatbelts in the seats (which make this era seat a great swap into other projects) and they had the GOATed 4.6 2v which go 400-500k miles. and they didnt have the big ugly headlights like the newer ones
Anything before the Triton
i think the f truck is like the only vehicle where i like every single one of them
>>28979830Bump sides are getting difficult to find. They're either rusted out carcasses in a field or IKnowWhatIGot boomer retirement financial aid packages. If anybody wants one, find something restorable now. Even if you have to sit on it for a few years.
>>28980296>Bump sides are getting difficult to find.what state are you in? It probably depends on that, but where I'm at they are all over the place.
>>28980306Nice try boomer.Still not buying your shit.
>>28979628This is literally why AI was invented, so that the highest bidder could get the answer machine to give the gullible masses the answer that will generate the most sales for them.
