how high will it be from the ground?
About tree-fiddy.
Inversely proportional to the height of the owner.
>>28979377>>28979379a more precise measurement? It will have 40/42 tires
>>28979381It's up there very highBut not as high asmaybe dirigiblesand zeppelinsand lightbulbsand maybe cloudsAnd puffins alsoI think maybe they go quite high tooMaybe not as high as the moon'Cause the moon is very high
>>28979372Looks like about 16" to the transfer case, maybe 20" before that shiny steering rack gets annihilated.
total height to the roof?
>>28979399unfathomably and irrevocably based
>>28979372leafs are too short for those arches, also spring over with no torque bars and to make things even worse blocks in the rear. I don't like it.
>>28979372BIG TRUCK TALL SUSPENSION FORTY INCHES FROM THE GROUND
>>28979464please explain better
>>28979481The more curve a leaf spring has the more suspension travel it provides. But instead of getting the factory springs re-arched or buying new leaf springs meant for a lift kit, they added lifting blocks between the rear leaf springs and the axle tube. Blocks are a cheap way to add a cosmetic lift but they add more points of failure because it gives more leverage against the strength of the u-bolts. There's also no bars to prevent axle wrap or axle hop, which it'll be more prone too because the axle has more leverage against the springs than stock.
>>28979406You mean 16" to the differential (?)Because the transfer case is sitting at about 36".
>>28979491and you can't really have those crazy arches, leaf springs don't work like that, if you need more travel/flex/lift you need longer springs, there are calculators for that.
>>28979499I know. I was just saying of the three ways he could've done a suspension lift on leafs he chose the cheapest and worst one
>>28979499Found the nowrench.Do you think hes trying to get 30" of travel out of that setup??Its not a crawler. Its not a jumper. He has more travel than stock.
>>28979553Looks like a mudder to me.
>>28979491>But instead of getting the factory springs re-arched or buying new leaf springs meant for a lift kit, they added lifting blocksYou think that truck only has a 4" lift?!?!Jesus fucking christ. Are you a basement dweller or third-worlder?
>>28979372It looks tall but these diffs will drag hard.
Trucks work the same way as 80s valley girl hair; The higher the hair, the closer to heaven.
>>28979601Fucking retarded NPC basement dweller. Why do you think hes going to be in 16" ruts? Why do you think hes going to aim for high spots with the centerline of his truck? Is pic related what you think that truck owner is going to aim for or something?!
>>28979610No, he's gonna drive to walmart and take instagram photos just off the road.
>>28979597If you're going to buy new leafs why wouldn't you just buy the correct ones instead of buying the wrong ones and putting a block in? Think, dummy. There's no reason to be using blocks.
>>28979372Exactly half the wheel diameter.
>>28979372Betting those are 44's, which used to be THE thing, and there's a few inches of wheelwell hanging over the tire so I'm thinking it's around 3 1/2 feet from the bottom of the bodywork to the ground.
>>28979620Nowremch dipshit.Trucks come with an assortment of factory blocks. Some are about 1" and tapered, used to correct u-joint angle because they use the same axle for multiple models and they have one factory spring perch welded on to all axle housings. A short bed single cab 4wd has a different driveline angle than a 2wd longbed. Some 2wd and 4wd models use the same axle and leafs so the 4wd model has blocks FROM THE FACTORY on the rear. Not to mention if youre going for a specific height there may not be a leaf kit that fits your need so you need blocks for the extra couple of inches. Now go back to your miata containment thread, faggot.
>>28979610People who don't off road think offloading is driving off a road through the wilderness through brush and woods. They don't know that you actually drive on roads you call "trails" and do things like "navigate obstacles". They think you juat plow though tall gras and brush blindly hence why they think the diff will get hit by something.
>>28979372Ask Obi-Wan.
>>28979372About 16" of ground clearance, depending on diffs.
>>28979774>"ground clearance".It gets so tiring...
>>28979731Clearly not factory blocks. And it looks like they don't give a shit about eating u-joints every 6 months
>>28979891The point being that blocks can be factory components.I have factory 2.5" blocks on one of my trucks. Having 4" blocks is not a big deal.
I hate overly lifted or lowered square bodies to an unreasonable degree. Giant aftermarket wheels look like shit as well. Trucks should be practical and capable of actually hauling things.
>>28979972>Trucks should be practical and capable of actually hauling things.Luckily youre not in charge of design, engineering, sales or marketing.
>>28979610Because I make up the rules and I say that's how it works. You have no proof otherwise and if you think you have some then I say it's fabricated.
>>28979948The point is that if you're spending the money to do a lift kit you should do it correctly and not use blocks. The factory does all sorts of things to reduce costs, like making the speakers out of paper. It doesn't mean it's the best way to do things.
>>28979372Higher than you can afford, manlet.
>>28980011This shit makes no sense to me. You jack the body up, jack the suspension up, put fat ass tires on it, just for the entire thing to have a "real" ground clearance of like 12 inches at best, because otherwise you're smashing the diff off rocks while offroading. I just dont get it
>>28980259Now this i have infinitely more respect for. Not this gay ass mall crawler f150 bullshit.
>>28979784"Ground clearance is the distance between the lowest point of a vehicle’s undercarriage and the ground, affecting handling, off-road capability, and safety."So about 16 inches of ground clearance, depending on the diffs...why are truck/offroad fags so fucking retarded all the time?
>>28980263>undercarriageYou were so close.>An undercarriage is the entire supporting structure or underside of a moving vehicle beneath the main bodySo are you an urbanite thats never been out of the city or from one of the Great Plains states or what?Because its obvious you've never actually seen a truck "offtoad".
>>28980218>do it correctly and not use blocksAlready explained that blocks are used from the factory on some builds. So blocks ARE "correct" according to the engineers that created these vehicles. If you cant accept that FACT then there is zero reason to explain anything further because its a waste of my time.
>>28980278I did this in a chevy cruze once
>>28980599Was that the same week you won LeMans in your Miata?
>>28980286Blocks are a shortcut, you said it yourself. They use blocks to cut costs by using the same leafs for a 2wd and a 4wd. Or they use angled blocks so they don't have to change the perches and mounts on the axle tube. That's not an optimal solution, that's a cheap solution.
>>28980259You're a homosexual that drives electric cars. This topic isn't for your kind, go away.
>>28980996Since you cant seem to figure it out for yourself-Leaf springs can only be made so "tall".Eventually they stop being springs.
>>28980954What
>>28979372Anon, it is LITERALLY touching the ground. Are you retarded?
>>28981129Well, yeah. The early Bigfoots used high curve leaf spring packs before they went to long link suspension
