Why don't car companies offer 2 sets of suspension on crossovers to market them as wagons/hatchbacks with 90% parts commonality?

Because they do?
>>
>>28979609
They do somewhat the opposite.
>europe gets the opel insignia wagon
>us gets the buick regal tour-x, which is an insignia with a lift kit and body cladding
>>
>>28979609
crossovers and suvs should be banned. bring back the economic coupe

Opel Mokka
>>
>>28979609
no one wants wagons
>but euro-
no, suvs are dominating europe too
>>
>>28979701
Just add a lift kit, call it a crossover and it should be good to go.
>>
>>28979609
You can't even fathom how none people would buy it.
>>
>>28979729
Mexicans would revive fast and furious with their fervor alone.
>>
>>28979609
Some of them already do.
>>
>>28979625
a crosstrek with good tires could probably out-perform that land cruiser offroad
>>
>>28979738
No they wouldn't because
1 no body is fast and furiousing a fucking crossover but more importantly
2 a lowered crossover is STILL a crossover. That """WRX hatchback""" still only has 180hp and a cvt.
But hey, feel free to put your money where your mouth is. The new Rav4 GR is a lowered Rav4 with wider wheels and tires with 320hp. If it's such a desirable product then go drop 50k on one

Once all of the old cars rust away you'll be seeing these things tearing up slow lanes
>>
>>28979754
Holy shit. One crossover? That's insane.
>>
>>28979701
I want a wagon and faggot crossovers and crosstreks and dumbass bitches are what killed the wagon
Its like a truck with a camper. Wagons are cool. Put a whole mattress down in the rear and nap

The TourX was the Insignia Country Tourer in Europe. But it didn’t get a lift kit. The alleged 0.5” rise was from different tires.

All they had to do was just bring over the sports tourer instead, but noooo
>>
>>28979609
they do? The crosstrek is literally just a lifted impresa hatchback with some extra plastic cladding
>>
>>28979754
I like the crosstrek a lot, but I have to disagree.
>>
>>28979977
I'm surprised more companies don't offer even more differentiated lineups with one luxury model and one off-road model with upgraded suspension, and locking diffs and such. Just a lift kit isn't enough. Certainly nice to have, but it could be more.
>>
Crosstrek used to be a trim level of Impreza (outback sport) with a softer suspension.
Then they became their own model.
Now people are modding them back to Imprezas?
We have come full circle.
>>
>>28979990
They do that for SUVs and pickups, not hatchbacks and wagons.
>>
>>28979999
subaru really peaked with the third gen legacy and second gen impreza
also nice digits

They did with the Mazda 5, minus the suspension lift. The 2nd generation Mazda 3 and Mazda 5 are platform twins with basically everything interchangeable on the front of the car.

Issue is, Mazda made a bet that their global mini-MPV (popular in Asia) would be competitive in the US and it wasn't.

Mazda has since learned its lesson and now make egg shaped crossovers. Even the global Premacy variant is no longer sold. People just do not like sliding doors, it appears that its connection to family domesticity is deeply unappealing for most people.
>>
nobody would buy them, every retarded bitch who buys a crossover is all like muh driver position muh ride height
