Should I get a Giulia? I just paid off my Crosstrek and would like a more purely fun car.
>>
>>28980578
Fuck off back to redd1t
>>
>purely fun car
giulias are the most fun you can have driving an automatic sedan. but if you want a dedicated fun car, go lighter, get a coupe
>>
>>28980580
No, I will enjoy using reddit and 4chan

>>28980581
What coupe?
>>
>>28980578
there's a reason it's lost more than 50% of its value even though it's low miles and clean title
also
>280hp 4cyl sedan
>purely fun
lol
>>28980585
if you want to be a little gayboy there are plenty of miatas or even a fiat spyder if you need to be extra special
otherwise there's plenty of mustangs, camaros, bmws or even some corvettes if you are willing to go older
>>
>>28980578
>Should I get a Giulia?
Yes. The only downside is that you are buying a stellantis product.
>What coupe?
Miata
is always the answer.
>>
>>28980585
for roughly 22k, you can get any gen of Miata you want, C4,5, or 6, probably at least one F Type nearby will be available if you prefer automatic, crossfire srt, V8 alpha chassis Camaro or cts-v/ats-v if you're lucky and time it well, a few astons will be available at that price too
>>
>>28980594
280hp is plenty of you don't live in flyover country with only 90deg corners, and you can boost well past 300whp with only a tune. it's a good option for anyone who would have it as their only car and drive on winding roads instead of sitting in rush hour traffic on a congested freeway

Muscle cars aren’t all that fun. They’re fast but their handling is kinda trash. Also how often am I really going to need more than 280 hp in daily traffic?
>>28980596
Yeah I was favoring the Giulia mainly because it has a bit more room
>>
>>28980578
yes if you
>are willing to do maintenance yourself
>live in one of the few places with a decent alfa stealership
>have an italian specialty mechanic nearby
the Giulia is a very good car
>>
>>28980653
btw if you can wrench on a modern jeep (any model) you have 99% of the tools and knowledge to wrench on a 2L giulia, engine is the corporate 2L i4 with funny valves
>>
>>28980648
>t but their handling is kinda trash
it isn't 2004 anymore
>Also how often am I really going to need more than 280 hp in daily traffic?
oh, so you aren't looking for something fun?
go buy a hybrid corolla or civic or some dumb shit, and stop trying to trick yourself into buying some italian shitbox that will just be a maintence/repair albatross
>>
>>28980694
>maintence/repair albatross
>still costs less to maintain and repair than other premium sedans over ten years

man, you really sound like you have fully convinced yourself of everything you need to hear
enjoy the pastabox bro
>>
>>28980578
I would not get a Giulia because the closest alfa dealer is more than an hour away. If there was a dealer in the same town I'd consider it
>>
>>28980648
giulia is a great sporty daily/jack of all trades car but will fall short if you ask more out of it (ie if you want to track it, they dont fit enough tire all around and they can be finicky tuned)

i'd get one over any of the sport compacts on the market except maybe like a elantra n, actually you should look for one of those theyre like $22-25k.
>>
>>28980578
>$50k new
>$22k after 5 years
How many of these fucking retarded financial decision threads do we have to have?
>>
>>28980999
lol it's a Chrysler underneath. Just take it to your local Stellantis dealership.
>>
>>28980578
The lower trims are nowhere near as good as as the higher ones.
If you're going to get a lower trim, might as well get an IS350
>>
>>28981020
nta but when I had mine the local CDJR stealership didn't want to touch it
>>

these are your options

Giulia looks kinda presentable being classic sedan, Miata will always make you look like annoying little faggot.
>>
>>28981331
do you want to have fun or look „cool“?
>>
>>28980802
>porch is bigger than a 4 seater sedan

No wonder it weighs 4000lbs, I always wondered how they managed to make them so heavy.

It's worse than that because for the dealer to list it at $23k, they would have to have offered the previous owner like $13k for it.

But yeah if you want nice things with a warranty then it's going to cost you.
>>
>>28981370
My cdjr would never touch an alfa because stellantis is a side gig for them, they're primarily a Ford dealer with a focus on diesel warranty work.
>>
>>28980802
There are some really cute Caymans for under 40k
>>28981006
Realistically am I going to track it though?
>>
>>28981651
>because for the dealer to list it at $23k, they would have to have offered the previous owner like $13k for it.
Apparently there's not that kind of profit in used cars anymore because it costs too much to get them. Brother manages a Mazda store that's part of dealer group that does imports and he says they've basically given up on used cars being a big profit center as they can't compete with the likes of Carvana. Says he's been at auctions where if something worthwhile comes up the Carvana rep just holds up his hand and keeps his hand up until it's theirs. That then forces the others that live on used cars to overpay for the next tier down because they need inventory regardless and so on. The net effect for the dealer group my brother works for as a new car dealer is that they're finding it better to nudge people into new cars which is a flip of the script from only a few years ago where used cars were smoking hot for them.
>>
honestly for public roads a zippy fwd car with a proper diff is the most fun.
unless you’re a faggot that likes to drift and ultimately crash

>>28980578
If you really really like it yes. I was very into it for a while and almost went for it but the 3 series is leagues better. Especially after the jump to the B48 & B58. The Giulia does feel unique but shit breaks enough that it becomes annoying to own as a daily. If you are keeping the Crosstrek then absolutely go for it if you can afford it. The G70 and XE also are better drivers but have equally questionable reliability.
>>
I have a 2018 and still love it. It's like wearing a nice italian suit. The only problem I had was the battery (the stop/start failed, which I disabled later) and it was partly my fault for not driving it for like a month in 2020 during the shutdown.
>>
>>28981808
That's fair. I was being disingenuous. This dealership has an Alfa/fiat side so they do everything. People do say they use standalone cdjr dealers on giuliaforums though. Some of the jeeps have the same engine.

I mean, that explains a lot about modern jeeps
