>>28982004>get a good dirt bike helmet and boots?poors have bikes. It depends - look at helmets and boots on a big site like rockymountainatv, or cyclegear. The type of bike depends on the type of riding you want to do. Offroad/mx bikes require a lot more maintenance than road bikes (tires, oil, air filters, grips, levers and repairs after crashing or dropping it. If you get a used bike it may not be sprung or valved for you weight or riding style - the proper suspension is a big deal if you want to get better. The best starter bike is like a 125 that some old guy is selling but really maintained it properly and already has good after market parts and he can tell you everything about how its set up. You might consider just getting one of them new fangled e-mx bikes that runs on tricity. Plug it in and ride it around. Quiet, fast, no gas, no jetting they have them for like $3-8k and a lot of different sizes. With an ebike you dont need to worry about transmissions blowing up, rings, gaskets, valves (four storkes) carbureators or fuel injection and that shits expensive. If you get two stroke you gotta mix the gas, jetting is an issue, you need to do piston and rings for often.

All of the stuff listed above is in near perfect condition. Most of the time it's because people don't even know what the fuck they're selling. The women selling the me the kevlar jeans thought it was just a normal old pair of jeans, protectors and everything... the Astars gloves were listed als "alpinas", so nobody would buy them for months because nobody would even FIND the listing.TL;DR, just get one used piece for every body part, you will ruin them anyway when (not if, when) you inevitably fall. Get the helmet new, no compromise here. You won't be able to spot a cracked helmet sometimes and those are strictly one use, if the hard foam liner inside the shell is cracked your noggin is pretty much unprotected and everything you've suffered until now is for naught because you'll be fucking dead. Get a new helmet. And do yourself another favor: spend the money you're saving here on a bike with ABS and traction control. Don't be a retarded boomer, these people darwin themselves left and right for nothing on their unsafe old shit. We have seatbelts for a reason, so take the fucking ABS/TC, it's not 1920 anymore. Good luck, junge.
