This is worse than I thought it would be. Look how cheap the door cards are. No real buttons, just a standard Chinese tesla-clone interior other than the seats if I told you it was a BYD you would have no idea.
95k dollars, EV only, realistically goes 275 miles on the highway before needing to stop for an hour to charge and weighs 6000 lbs doing this.
Nobody is going to buy this. Is Geely just flush with cash and just wants to get Chinese EVs to US customers for spying or I dunno?

Yeah sure, it's made in America but all the parts are from China.

you make it sound as if volvos were ever good in 21st century. Sure they are chinkmobile with scandinavian paint but it's not like they were incredible cars under ford either once safety standards were caught up. no one wanted them except for soccer moms until japanese took their last remaining suv pie

I drove an S60 in the early 2000s and it wasn't amazing but it wasn't bad either. It was decent. Maybe not quite as nice as the Acura TL, certainly not the engine, though I suppose in a different way the 2.5T engine was fun, I mean they did use it in the Fiesta ST for Europe I believe. And we had Volvos from the 80s when I was growing up and they weren't this bad. This is just a Chinese tesla clone with a fake Volvo badge. And it makes me sick all the car reviewers have to pretend it's a real brand and not just a way to smuggle Chinese cars into the US.
>>
>>28982543
I prefer Polestar. Lots of physical buttons on the steering wheel and a nice gear shifter too. With that said, the EX60 is a pretty solid EV IMO.
>>
>>28982616
that all looks very cheap

I mean avoiding Chinese tesla clones means you avoid the worst of the problem...
Chinese bought up IP rights to former real brands like Volvo, Lotus, and MG, and use them to import Chinese cars to Western countries.
>>
>>28982543
>>28982620
>"looks cheap"
The problem is you're a bus rider. You can't see build quality and materials. But you'll never actually test drive one to see what the interior is actually like
>>
>>28982543
>ust a standard Chinese tesla-clone interior other than the seats if I told you it was a BYD you would have no idea.
That's because Volvo is Chinese owned. Did you think they'd be hands-off like they "promised"?
>>
>>28982654
My issue is more that so many seem fooled into thinking these are something other than rebadged Chinese EVslop.
And the pricing is outrageous for the quality.
>>
>>28982616
that has a nice butt plug too. where's the shifter though?

>My issue is more that so many seem fooled into thinking these are something other than rebadged Chinese EVslop.
It's why China buys legacy western brands, people tend to not trust Chinese brands so they buy the dead husks of dying companies and wears their skin to fool overseas customers.

These days they push a gigantic shill operation that's all state-sponsored, and they use dying legacy media outlets that are desperate for money to push it. Pic related is a very obvious example. Same with Chinese EVs. They report-bomb anything that is critical of Chinese EVs and only leave the "Chinese EVs are better than Tesla" narrative up, usually in the form of "How China Left the West Behind in EVs".
>>
>>28982665
How is Ford selling made-in-china SUVs in the US?
Lincoln Nautilus and Corsair (soon to return) are both Chinese.

Which Volvo has that weird 3 pointed star on the steering wheel?
>>
>>28982642
the difference is that volvos are still designed and made in sweden
>>
>>28982670
In what year will Mercedes finally fix its "crap interior" problem? Really, it could not be worse. Even BMW is better, and BMW gave up and made everything all-screen too.

I will say kudos to Merc for realizing they goofed and bringing back the I6 for the C/GLC engine upgrade products AND you get double wishies
>>
>>28982659
I reckon somewhere in your ass.
>>
>>28982673
imagine thinking that means anything
pic related is made in the us, and I guarantee you none of the parts are made in sweden, you fell for a meme, its 100% chinese
they pay some people in sweden to rubber stamp shit to convince boomers like you its not just a chinese car
I hope it fails, and really, I can't imagine it won't.
EV's are slop, it means the manufacturer is too lazy to make a new gasoline powertrain.
>>
>>28982543
why can't they just rebadge their existing stuff and put Volvo-y body panels on it?
>>
>>28982685
Um what do you think they are doing lol???
The only thing Volvo is maybe the air suspension, and the seats.
>>
>>28982543
Nothing can make an EV worth $95k. It's still just a lame EV. They should be more than $20k. This is a golf cart with extra plastic and an ipad glued to the front.
>>
>>28982807
*shouldn't be more than 20k
>>
>>28982807
Eh if it had an actually nice interior, 3 usable rows, 400 mi range, maybe
but really evs shouldn't exist and companies not selling hybrids are fake and going the way of the dodo if not already
>This is a golf cart with extra plastic and an ipad glued to the front.
the audacity of the chinese tho
>>
>>28982683
as a tesla owner with a butt plug currently up my ass i resent that statement.

Euro Ford is completely different to US Ford. The difference is Euro Ford actually produces good cars

That T5 engine was nice, but the low pressure 200 hp turbo was already pretty laggy, it did not need 100hp more of lag, it needed a v6

The cry of the bench racer
>>
>>28983693
I don't give a whit about racing I just suffer with a mcdonalds car and I feel the handling might be more confident on the sorts of winding, trying dirt roads I often end up on if I could afford a car with UPPER LINKS in my front suspension.

Said the bench racer.

You complete and utter cretin. A Porsche Cayman has "Macdonalds" on all 4 corners and it'll outhandle virtually any normal car on the road
>>
>>28983698
I'm sure BMW and Mercedes are equipping their higher end models with double wishies for no reason. VW is legendarily cheap and still sells iron block engines in 2026.

>VW is legendarily cheap and still sells iron block engines in 2026.
And this is relevant how?
>I'm sure BMW and Mercedes are equipping their higher end models with double wishies for no reason.
Because that's the suspension compromise solution they have chosen. A few models aside, nobody holds Mercs as paragons of on-limit handling.
You've just fallen for the
>MacDonalds bad
meme without understanding why.
>>
>>28983715
>And this is relevant how?
Porsches are overpriced VW beetles and the Cayman you don't even get a 6 cyl in most of them
the fact that they cheap out on the suspension is not surprising

>meme without understanding why.

Whoever makes the setup for the factory floor is the core designers.
Which means the skateboard frame, or the chassis, and everything after that might be altered a little bit. So designed in Sweden is a lie. But manufactured in Sweden is something that makes some sense to talk about, so long the batteries are also made somewhere that WW3 embargo won't stop shipping globally.

Case in point: The Volvo is a Polestar, which also is a few models of Geely. The Geely that IS a Volvo is being sold in Russia, while the Polestar and Volvo can't be due export restrictions.
