Is there a good place to get legit seat belt extenders? These chintzy ones on scamazon look like they'll break in a crash and send me through the windshield. I don't wanna hear that fucking chime every time I start the car or feel like taking my belt off.
How fat are you, OP? We need to know to in order to find the right length extender.
Maybe look to an elephant harness retrofit
got to a junkyard and find a car with long seatbelt buckle.
>>28985153What? Why would you need one? What is the use case?
No.Its either a OBD2 feature for the back seats, or its manufacture software sheenigans. Or its Chinesium.
>>28985201>What is the use case?To be brown.
>>28985201Are you guys fucking retarded? I said in my post it's to shut the seatbelt chime up. That's why they're used, and they've been banned on all market sites for killing people because most are chinkshit. Wanted to see if there are known good ones.
>>28985334Just disconnect the seat belt chime?
>>28985334What company other than some shady Chinese factory is going to make these? It’s a huge liability to help people break the law and put their lives at risk like that, so I doubt Dorman or another big aftermarket name is going to make that part. Should probably make you wonder why no one legit makes those, because nobody legit uses them either. Wear your seatbelt so we don’t have to scrape you off the road.
>>28985153>I don't wanna hear that fucking chime every time I start the carI heard you can plug your car's seatbelt into the original seatbelt anchor point and that stops the chime, but don't quote me on that

>>28985334have you considered wearing the seat belt?
>>28985334They're banned because they're not actually for extending the seatbelt, just for shutting the alarm up. They're functionally identical to picrel except you can't even open your beer with it.
>>28985334Oh. You’re retarded.
>>28985334When you asked for "legit seat belt extenders" and mentioned not getting sent through the windshield in a crash there was an assumption that you had a legitimate need for something non-retarded.

Just jump the wires dingus. God damn this board is worse than /g/
>>28985452You’re not the same guy. Go away I want to hear from him not you.
Never knew /o/ was a board full of pearl clutchers, these are great for when you're constantly hopping in and out of a work vehicle on site so its not like you're going fast anyway.
>>28985520>pearl clutchersThey're just the ones that replied.I always use my seatbelt, except for when I'm driving around the farm picking up sticks or dumping gravel or dirt. I would never not use my seatbelt when out driving, it keeps my tiny ass from being thrown away from the controls when I do powerslides. I wish my golf cart had a seatbelt. I use the seatbelt on my zero-turn lawn mower. But, I don't care if someone else does this shit, that's on them, so I didn't say anything.
>>28985520this board is now full of nocars and brown keyboard racing wrenchlets. it's always been dogshit, but now in a very reddit way.but ops just as reddit for not just running an illegal one thats always in.

>>28985567>0.35 acreI'm working with 25-27 acres, though a lot of it is forest. I'm about to go out on it after this post. Sorta been procrastinating.
Who needs seatbelts? Only turd worlders go without them
>>28985569Idk what you're trying to tell me, but .35 acres of turf with a push mower sucks ass I assure you.
>>28985153>look like they'll break in a crash and send me through the windshieldThis is why international standards exist. If you can buy it, and its advertised to be where you need it, its safe.

>>28985632Yes it does. I just walked in from going on the zero-turn. I really did start mowing after that last post, I have sand in my mouth.Back in my day my family had one like picrel, and I used hand gas mowers most of my life. Your paramedic parent was trained for triage in a 6 month course. They werent a doctor or engineer. That collapsed lung from a seat belt would have otherwise been a human cannonball traveling through the windshield and splattering against the back of the truck they rearended.Your parent is a dumbfuck and so are you.Stop wearing your seat belt. >>28985817Your dad gets horny thinking about that guy getting all wet in the river.
>>28985814>if they didn't have their seatbelts on they woulda been thrown outNo. If they didn't have seatbelts on they would've driven more carefully and avoided the collision.Imagine if the airbag in the centre of the steering wheel was replaced with a dagger pointing directly at your chest. You'd drive more carefully knowing that if you crash you're going to die.Seatbelts (and airbags and being inside a steel cage on wheels) promotes self-assurance and confidence and eliminates the self-preservation instinct that we all have. This results in careless driving that ultimately results in fatal collisions.
>>28985755>socket switch is normally open.
>>28985817Hitting water in a vehicle is like slamming a brick wall. Im not just pulling this out of my ass- ive been on the rotisserie in the dunk tank with a frog on standby (never need him because im high speed, low drag).

>>28985153The dealer will often just give them to you.
>>28985334Wrap it around the back of the seat and connect it. Shuts up the ding, keeps the loose belt from rattling against the side, and if a cop happens to roll up behind you it might trick him into thinking you're wearing it if you live in a fascist state where you have to worry about that shit.

>>28986812Have you, at any time in your life, admitted to being wrong about something?
Some cars have methods of disabling the seatbelt chime. I know for Subarus you turn the ignition to “accessory” and insert/remove the driver side seat belt 20 times within like 10 seconds.I had a Honda that could roll down the windows by holding the unlock button on the key fob. Idk why manufacturers don’t add more programmable features like this
>>28986988Used to be it was a physical buzzer module, usually under the dash, and you could just disconnect the connector to it and your door and belt noises would disappear.
>>28986781Those first two posts are true though
>>28985839your armchair psychology degree is worthless. I'll humour you, you're disregarding millions of case studies and other examples to push your niche viewpoint. Seatbelts save lives, and people drove dangerously with 60s cars all the time, which had no safety features, repetition breeds complacency, and driving is a repetitive activity, there has never been more statistically safe accidents in history than right now with all the extra safety crap and crumple-zones in cars.
>>28987378>you're disregarding millions of case studiesName one.>Seatbelts save livesProve it.>repetition breeds complacencyRepetition breeds confidence and when you combine over-confidence with a lack of self-preservation while feeling safe and secure wearing your seatbelt harness inside a steel cage on wheels surrounded by airbags then you have someone who is reckless and dangerous. Cars are too safe. If people crash they should die so they can't crash again. Kinda like riding a motorcycle. But the west has become a nanny state with over-protective rules, laws, and regulations that cater to the lowest common denominators of society. The sort of retards who repeat the mantra "seatbelts save lives" because the man on the telly said it so it must be true! Nigga please. A seatbelt's function is to save the occupant's life (You) so if you decide not to wear one you get fined and penalised for not protecting your own life. But shouldn't your life be in your hands and not the state government's?
>>28987470If you get stopped and fined for a seatbelt violation congratulations you live in a white area with no crime where cops can be that petty. At least you/they don't have to deal with real crime. It's a double edged sword since white people can be petty af. A seatbelt ticket? My nigga you live in a giant HOA.
>>28985814>Real life experience doesn't mean you will necessarily come to the correct conclusion, especially if you are a retard.i just want you to know i laughed at this and it made me choke on my gatorade but i'm not mad at you
>>28987475No, my city is experiencing record crime levels while the police are busy catching motorists speeding so they can make money. But there's no money to be made by tackling real crime. Hence, the current crime wave.

>>28987869It sounds like it's faulty, otherwise you couldn't drop a passenger off in traffic - you'd have to stop the car. My 2019 Volvo ignores the passenger belts (all 4) unless the car detects the seat(s) are occupied, then it warns me. If anyone gets out I get a red light from the seat that unfastened the belt and a chime if the car moves, which goes out if they get out.Plus you'd compromise your restraints system rather than turn it off.
