I am looking for a smaller truck for doing simple household tasks and whatnot. I work remotely so I don't even need to commute. Honestly I wanted a Japanese truck (or even a Ridgeline) but at around the $20,000 budget these things seem like much better deals.What's the catch?

You could spend $2k for something the same size but with a 6.5 bed and a higher payload to use to work around the house and then sell it for what you paid for it years down the road.

The Colorado is too big. It's made from the same platform as the full size Silverado, unlike the Ranger vs F150, and it just isn't small enough to fit into daily life for most Americans who don't want a full sized pickup. The off road equipment seems nice, the engine seems meh, too bad you can't get the off road equipment in something less giant truck.
>>28987631the ranger isn't small either unless you're talking the older ranger. those older rangers are very weak when it comes to payload/towing anything over 500lbs, and that's considering you even get the v6. the rear end still sags. they are good for throwing a few 2x4s in the bed and that's nearly it. there is a reason they went away from that. OP needs to just get a half-ton with a v8 and if he gets a regular cab it will be much smaller.
