I did a v8 swap, on a cateye 1500, how do I get the pcm vin to match the bodies vin? Do I have to spend 600$ for a mpvi3 interface and credits? Ive called 6 shops now and no one can help me.

>>28987908Pretty sure you need the GM dealership level interface to mess with anything mileage or VIN related. HP Tuners or whatever won't do it iirc. Guys who rebuild the dash clusters for GMT800's usually have it to change the mileage on the clusters so try them.
Agree with PCM Hammer to get the file from the ECU and then flash your new tune/vin whatever. I use Tunerpro free version to adjust the actual tune and other info. It might let you change the vin too, I'm not super experienced however, so verify everything I say with plenty of googling. I used an obdlink branded bluetooth obd2 scanner paired to my laptop and a cheap china standalone bench tuning harness the few times I've done it.
>>28987908>mpvi3 interfaceI have one. Those are junk. They bricked so many ECUs it's not even funny.HP Tuners replaced it with the Vi4 super quick. Then claimed nothing was wrong.
