Alpine and Alpina are two different brands from two different countries
Ferrari using GM slushboxes. BMW, too.
At some point during the Viper's production run, Mclaren worked on a variable valve timing system for the Viper that gave it a whopping 100 HP boost. they effectively gave the Viper VTEC. as a result, despite being the 8 liter low end torque making engine, it doesn't make torque quite as low as a standard LS engine because there is VTEC kicking in somewhere higher along the rev range that also slightly increased its redline.
>>28988262Which ones? I am genuinely interested
>>28988299Ferrari used a rebranded 4L80-E in the 456 and BMW used a a 6L relatively recently in the 3 series up until 2013. Aston Martin, Jaguar, and Bently all used GM trannies as well in automatic versions of their cars.I thought GM trannies were pretty hated and had no idea they made their way into exotic cars.
>>28988332the 700r4 was a great transmission for its time, and the 4L was just one of those but with a tcu. you won't catch me white knighting for the 6L though.
>>28988332>I thought GM trannies were pretty hatedJust their new 8 speed garbage. The Powerglide, TH400 and 4l80E are still some of the best out there for holding serious power.
>>28988262All magneride suspension comes from GM too. Ferrari, Ford, Lamborghini, all GM.
