>BMW sales went from 800k in 2021 (peak) to 40k in 2025 (record low)
>Iran War drove European buyers to consider cheaper alternative EV models
>Mercedes-Benz went from 13% profit margin per car in 2021 to 3-5% profit margin per car in 2026

What now?

Such a great company... reduced to this?

we (you) hang the legislators and they build the cars we want.
so, go on. get hanging.
>>
>>28988812
What cars do you want? BMW builds ICE, they build EVs (not anymore, they're closing a line of cars), big cars, small cars.

People aren't buying, no matter what they make.
>>

>>BMW sales went from 800k in 2021 (peak) to 40k in 2025 (record low)
This is in China, not global. If they only sold 40k cars globally, they wouldn't be alive right now.
>>
>>28988814
I want a manual naturally aspirated 6-cyl with wind down windows
>>
>>28988815
Yup, every German and to a lesser extent American car company bet huge on the Chinese market and got raped once they built their domestic companies up and instituted policies that benefit EVs over ICE. VWAG is the worst victim alongside GM. Notice how Mercedes didn't suffer nearly as much.
>>
>>28988809
bismallah mashallah werke can go die for all i care. They make garbage vehicles and their shills are cancer.
>>
>>28988827
>and to a lesser extent American car company
Buick went hard into China. I think they'd have been shuttered by GM if it wasn't for the Chinese market.

China is also the only reason Cadillac still makes sedans. they buy tons of CT4s and CT5s. way more than what is sold in america.
>>
China baited these greedy western corporations hard. They got their plants and their R&D for chump change.
>>
>>28988809
So much for all that market research about how China loves [insert shitty new euroslop trend here] so they had to put it in cars that aren't even sold in China, seems like it was just PR bullshit to cover up how retarded their designers were all along.

They even still have the CT6, it's insane that Cadillac's only full size sedan isn't even sold in the US.

Bug men think Merc, Buick and Cadillac are still good luxury cars.
Hilarious how misguided they are.
>>
>>28988809
maybe ban crossovers and suvs from america
>>
>>28988809
well many people have lost interest in cars in western market and they're just simple grocery mobiles for most, whereas in asia it's a greater status symbol fueled by much more intense 'keeping up with the jones' culture. If BMW lost that market, they weren't really a 'great company' to begin with, they were just riding on the coattails until they couldn't anymore
>>
>>28989368
>riding on the coattails until they couldn't anymore
Big problem with traditional automotive industry as a whole. The competitive chinese EVs are coming out of tech companies. Even the state sponsored chinese ICE makers got bulldozed.
>>
>>28988809
They'll be fine
>>
China will no longer buy non-Chinese cars.
They take great pride in their cars apparently

Imagine coping like this, when BMW just announced new record company income kek

this but unironically. the G series is massive success, and rightfully so.

Not even true. GWM, Chery and Geely all still produce and sell ICE vehicles. The EV manufacturers have just had a massive growth in market share.
>>
>>28989423
I meant bulldoze figuratively, not literally.
>>
>>28988825
And won't pay more than $9,999.99 for it.

Huh... I wonder why you had to lie...
>>
>>28989401
>or more properly, made ICE vehicles unavailable
There are still lots of ICEs on the market in China and they sell well. But EVs are cheaper, charging infrastructure is more widely available than petrol stations (petrol stations are genuinely hard to come by in China compared to the west where they are basically on every block), and license plate system in the tier 1 cities makes it prohibitively expensive for average person to buy a full access license plate (meaning they can drive in every area every day) for ICEs compared to EVs.
>>
>>28988814
bring back the 1M and dont make it more than 1.5 tons or more than 50k euro, impossible for the eurojew
>>
>>28988814
Emission and safety regulations don't allow them to make good cars. So it was the final cashgrab before shutting down or becoming a boutique brand for the wealthy.
>>
>>28988814
Do they make something that doesn't have an ugly front grill?

you get what you fucking deserve

they did it to themselves

The closest thing to the 320i we got still had an MSRP of $27,000. A poverty-spec German 320i would still be over $10,000

Economic recession, very few can afford a premium car.

Meanwhile demand for the i3 is so high they had to open orders months early.

>BMW sales went from 800k in 2021 (peak) to 40k in 2025 (record low)

This is the problem with capitalism.
They expect to sell insane amounts every year despite the fact that everybody ends up owning that shit and thus doesn't need buying it anymore.
And when they don't sell now there is a problem and it needs to be fixed (somehow)
>>
>>28988809
>BMW sales went from 800k in 2021 (peak) to 40k in 2025 (record low)
BMW sold 2.5m cars in 2021 and 2.5m cars in 2025, retard
>>
>>28989192
It's not like the carmakers didn't know what was happening, the problem with not manufacturing cars in China is
>you lose out on a huge market
>if you don't manufacture there someone else will and China gets the tech anyway
Only industries that are dominated by a handful of companies and/or are vital to national security (jet engines, advanced semiconductors and manufacturing tools, etc etc) can avoid this dilemma.
>>
Good. BMW has been a brown brand for too long. All the stupid idiots who think 'I've made it in life, I drive a BMW' are retarded
