I bought a 22 Camry 1.5 years ago and its just dogshit. I know people here will pay $50k for a Toyota if it runs but it's ridiculous.

My AC has a high pitch whistle if I go any higher than level 2. I can't afford a $200+ diagnostic fee at the dealer.

Plastic parts snap like it's an old 90s car. I barely drive this car. It has under 25,000 miles with several broken plastic pieces. I'm not hard on cars as I'm a car enthusiast. I bet money that my GMT 800 would last longer than this piece of shit.

Thankfully I have positive equity and will be selling it.

Today's cars are shit. Nothing new there.

You just can't appreciate the dependability. Sad.

The newer Toyota stuff doesn’t seem to be holding up as well, combine that with sky high prices and fewer features vs the competition and they aren’t providing the value they did a decade ago. Brittle plastic, electrical gremlins, and oil leaks. They’re still simple cars for basic transportation, just overpriced.

OP: toyotas suck so much ass for known reasons
>n-n-noooo you !
typical toyotard cope

I wouldn’t be shocked if Toyota is coasting on its rep. People keep citing their experiences with Toyotas from >8 years ago. I think they’ve changed.

-I had a Corolla from the mid-80s that was FANTASTIC! Solid feel.
-Borrowed a friend’s 2015 Camry. Expected it to be a sofa on wheels. Not so! Surprisingly mediocre (and so-so comfortable).
-Recently drove a 2025 Corolla - tiny and weak. Lousy fit and finish. Cardboard seats. Potentially unreliable. Total dogshit. I was shocked.

>doesn't seem to be holding up
It's pretty clear, even NPCs should be able to tell at this point. Toyota is just extra greedy and doesn't care about you. They have the most privilege in the industry and yet keep trying to maximize profits and slash development cycles. For decades. And their toolbag customer base is only like 'you know, something seems different'..... yeah different from 1984. Toyota pockets almost double the profits per vehicle than the next Japanese competitor, and the only thing they want to do with those profits is... fix their fuckup dumb engineering? Nope. Billions right back into ads and racing teams.... nothing but more lies to make you spend the money first and discover the surprises later

tldr,fuck em

Was a Toyota shill as well. Last few times we went car buying, I test drove different makes/brands expecting to buy the Toyota. Each time the Toyota was crappier in every way to the competition, ride quality, pep/power, tech, etc. fuel economy was good but not good enough to overlook the shortcomings. Plus, all the recent Toyota recalls haven't helped.

Post Covid Toyotas are way worse than the older ones.
But other car makers are WAY WAY worse!

You're experiencing minor inconveniences with your car.
I know dudes with new GM vehicles that just straight up stop working.
Like dead at 60mph.
Dealers can't figure out the issue.
Then you have to hire a lemon law lawyer to get your money back.

Geniunely the worst cars I've ever driven. Completely devoid of character and life.

Plastic parts require careful working when you are doing repairs or maintenance, you better work when car is cooled down to normal outdoor or indoor temperature. Both high temperatures, freezing cold temperatures are bad for plastic parts. Also avoid using harsh chemicals.

You are clearly retarded. A Goyota is the perfect car for you

Have you already checked the cabin filter? Might be almost clogged from dirt.

Mazda is the new Toyota

I drove a 23 camry recently, actually enjoyed it a lot. (think I felt the transmission beginning it's decline) Was also quick enough for me, trying to figure out if it's the weight or what that makes it so quick, cause it has less hp than my old 90s cars but mine 0-60 in like 13 secs lol. And I liked how it felt and looked inside. Stupid long car though, I see why Japan stopped selling them. That damn long and no front camera = have to back in everywhere. Silly.

Anyone that actually knows a thing about cars that's under the age of 65 knows to never listen to a single actual fucking word this dumbass boomer says.
Even if you think his regurgitated old wives tales about cars are true, modern Toyota is a burnt out husk of what it used to be in the '90s and into the '00s. All that isn't even getting into the fact that if you buy a modern Goyota it's literally spying on you and sending information "back" to be sold off to advertisers/NSA/Unit 8200 etc.

if backup cameras are federally mandated standards, 360 cameras should be its just 2 side cameras and a front one
it's wayyyy easier to park with front and side cameras than just parking sensors

They are made in america and thus shit, american made cars are garbage
