>be a GMT610>be body on frame>frameHow many have tried swapping out the van body for truck body or even a car body.Pic related: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9zzNoVN0bo
>>28988911there was some YouTuber to would do this in most of his videos. i cant remember the name
>>28988911The truck and van frames are pretty different which is why it's not easy to do a 4x4 conversion on an Express. Vans are pretty clapped out by the time they are sold so you would be building on a worn out RWD only platform. All in all pretty pointless when there are millions of decently solid truck frames out there with rotten bodies.
>>28989674Yeah, it would be best to use the van as a donor for a truck chassis. Which depending on the model year:1996–2002 is the GMT400 derived GMT600 platform2003–present is the GMT800 derived GMT610 platform
>>28989821"""derived from""" is not the same as a factory 4x4 truck chassis. Go look at a GMT400/800 vs a GMT600/610 chassis in the junkyard, there's a pretty big difference.
>>28989829I was talking about taking power train and suspension components from a van chassis and putting them on to a truck chassis. And there are entire companies that make stuff for swapping early model bodies on late model chassis for that, pic related:https://www.e-zchassisswaps.com/14
