I have an M340i. It's fast and I love the way it handles and girls like it, but I can't even really step on it without instantly blowing the cucked speed limits in my area. I got pulled over for going 20 over a few weeks ago. Should I have just gotten a plush, slow, Mercedes sort of ride instead? What's the fucking point when you have to share the road with people who should be legally classified as fauna and follow rules meant to keep them from accidentally killing themselves and others?
>>
No, just find your nuts and have fun in the real world.

Speeding is like farting, there's a time and place to do it.

Not going to the track with your """performance"" car is exactly the same as not using a truck for "truck things" except one is practical and one is not. I can almost triple the posted speed limit in the turns in my 124hp shitbox or my pigfat SUV... What the fuck is the point of something that actually "handles"? Those are already lose your license or die speeds.

Don't get caught and just don't die

>Anons cry about a skill issue
>>
>>28989744
Either that or highway runs at 3am. At least with rwd performance cars you can do skids on empty roads as well.
>>
>>28989752
Yeah and you can have fun in the winter or on ice with a 200hp RWD truck so what's the point of the sports car?
>>

one feels more willing to do it than the other

t. drives a 6000lb f350 superduty work truck on a airfield 50-60 hours a day and a 350z outside of work
>>
>>28989755
>muh snow
Yeah sliding around at a brisk walking speed like a dog trying to walk on ice is totally comparable to doing skids on dry pavement.
>>
>>28989758
>one feels more willing to do it than the other
Which makes it even more fun. inb4 diddy. I've had more fun getting a 20k lb 5 ton box truck sideways than driving some of the "fun" FWD's.

>>28989762
Yeah it's not comparable because it tales a lot more skill on a slippery surface. It may not look impressive but it takes a lot more skill to drift something that is not mean to drift on a slippery surface than it is to drift with a "drift missile" on dry pavement. That skill requirement makes it more fun and rewarding.

Obviously not. Good back roads are great.
But, you will never get anywhere close to the feel that you get on a track. Only tracklets think otherwise. It's a completely different kind of driving. The dynamics are totally different, much higher speeds, actual lines since theres actual width to a track.
On the other hand you can get something from back roads a more visceral peacefulness that you can't necessarily get from a track. One is purely for enjoyment and one is competitive and hectic and theres pressure at least in racing.

Late night highway run to a good canyon or back road. Maybe windows down, no one else around. Little risky lawman wise. Unfortunately a lot of what you can find to drive relies on where you're at in the US I think is a really big thing about it.

This just in: sports cars are pointless because anon lives in area where there is snow for 1/6th of the calendar year.

Going to track days was one of the most enjoyable things I've ever done. It's so good if you have a chill track with only a few cars out at a time.
But, there's always that one rule: No intentional oversteer. On the street, you can do that. I am hopelessly attracted to stunt driving.
I always have a blast driving on the street. Maybe you should have gotten a manual?
Just pick your times and locations wisely and there are endless opportunities to hoon like a mad cunt as long as you don't live in the inner parts of a major city.

i'm assuming this is also because you know you're on a track, which is generally well-maintained for insurance and liability purposes, and also typically free of unknown variables like oncoming traffic, blind corners, animals etc. so you really can go balls to the wall without too much of a risk of dying.

I mean I am a frostback and it doers snow in July/August here. There are still plenty of nice days to "enjoy" a sports car aka getting stuck behind somebody doing 1/2 the speed limit in a crossover. Ironically a sports car or even a supercar is even more enjoyable in the winter because you can actually use some of it's potential.
>>
>>28989782
I mean that's definitely part of it that you can actually push near the limit, which you can't get near on road, but I just meant the driving dynamics are totally different, even a closed road won't teach you much about driving on a track it's not nearly fast enough or wide enough. The car gets floaty at speed and the weight behaves much more dramatically.

But you also don't have to be anywhere near the real limit to have a lot of fun on the street. I can't safely push more than like 5/10th on a road, but it's fun in a totally different way and theres a subculture about it that is cool.

Ppl aren't rly tracking M-TreeFordys, they're ultimately street cars.

I prefer twisty mountain roads, never understood the urge to track.

I don't care about muh ePeen measuring contest with other car nerds, I just want to enjoy the feels. The sound of the engine, the feel of the wind blowing across your face, the beautiful scenery of the trees and cliffs and mountains and streams, the company of a cute girl, all as I'm swinging side-to-side down some twisty road.
>>
>>28989831
You could do all of that in a F-150.

>340i
>its fast
lol
lmao
maybe if you've only driven totally gutless econoboxes your entire life
>>
Slow cars are frustrating as fuck to drive
Every time i have a rental i'm reminded of that
Some people on this website only drive what are practically rentals though lmao
Be thankful you can go fast if you want
