Are recalls pointless now?>20 years ago>some vehicles engines explode or drivers die>announcement of a huge vehicle recall>vehicle has some insane issue that is complex to fix>have to bring it to shop and leave it for a few weeks>today>announce of a huge vehicle recall out of nowhere>vehicle is has a small UI bug (icon is 5% smaller than regulations)>car auto updates overnight while sleeping>nobody was ever harmed or impacted
I don't call Elon "Mr. Tard" for nothing
>>28990235Good for Tesla. At least they're a responsible car company and willing to fix the problem.Good on them for stepping up. Fuck all those other jerks that sell trouble free cars. Won't even randomly fix stuff for free
>>28990235>Recall a shitton of vehicles>No, actually its just an OTA updateI hate journalists
>>28990256It sounds silly, but it's still called a recall.
>>28990235How do I opt out from this botnet?
>>28990235toyota did something similar with lexus when the ls400 first came out. they dropped off a loaner car at the owner's house and towed the original car back to the dealer for the recall, then returned it washed and detailed, with a full tank of gas and a little gift and note that basically said "we're sorry for the inconvenience please accept this gift as a token of apology"and in one case they flew one of their mechanics to alaska to fix the car in the guy's driveway.this was all over the potential for an overheated brake light
When you get older your vision goes away. That's not a tall tale, it's reality. In general, most vehicles are certified by the manufacturer and they only test a small percentage. They expect the automaker to act in good faith, which is likely how this slipped through the cracks. It's absolutely nothing, not a big deal. I hate tesla, and think this was valid for a recall, but it's overblown by the media. If I want to attack someone's views or philosophy, I don't go for the piddling low-hanging fruit - that's a sign of weakness. You attack the core point, and wait until said core point is revealed. Calling someone a redditor isn't as effective.
>>28990235>Are recalls pointless now?For most manufacturers, recalls are just problems with the infotainment screen settings. Most manufacturers. Not all.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5t6Q-tJPy8
