>>28990352I love my viofo a229. Capacitor instead of battery. Front and back cameras. All the normal impact locking, etc. Mounts pretty flush behind my mirror
>>28990361>>28990362ty I'll check these out
>>28990362Why is it better that it uses a capacitor and not a battery?
>>28990803heata dash can easily be 150f-200f+ in direct sun and batteries like to explode or at the very least require coolinga little capacitor gives it just enough juice to save files and shutdown gracefully on power loss
my $50 thinkware cam gave out just after the two year warranty. can yall recommend another $50-75 dashcam?
+1 on the a229+. Picked up 3 of them along with wiring kits and polarized lenses for about $615 total back during a sale late 2024. All of them work great, and one helped me when I got swiped by a dumb cunt not paying attention.>>28990803What he said, plus the fact that supercaps have like 100x lifespan of a lithium battery (not exaggerating) and if they do ever fail, they aren't full of lithium so they can't spicy pillow inside of your car 4 inches from your flammable headliner.
>>28990362I have put a few of these in. The hardwiring kit is worth it for the parking mode. Going to be installing one in my folks GX470 in a few days when I go over to their house.
Dashcamtalk.comI use a 70mai A510s front+rear, it works great, important part is the sony starvis sensor
>>28990803Battery isn't great because it can roast in the car and get too hot, possibly bulging out and becoming a hazard, plus the battery will probably fail after 5 years or so. My 70mai dashcam uses a tiny battery but I prefer it, it's a very small battery and it ensures the camera will gracefully shut on and off, or stay triggered during an accident. I use the 48hr surveillance where it records 1fps at all times. I've already started 2 insurance claims from people just hitting my vehicle parked, and I caught them red handed with the cameras.
>>28990352Get a ViofoA119.
>>28993735Who was he passing?
>>28993736Freightliner doing 65 mph, the radar cone in the bumper displays the vehicles speed, distance in feet, and seconds of following time.
>>28990352Im going to hit your car every other frame at 60fps. You won’t know what hit you (it’s me).
>record myself speeding and breaking traffic laws on the small off chance someone hits me and doesn't come cleanno thanks
>>28993749Did you know, the SD card in your dash cam is yours and you can delete the files or eat the SD card if you want? It’s true!
>>28993749unless you do something highly illegal, cops would need a search warrant to view your dashcam footage.
>>28993754>>28993782yeah and if you were to crash badly where police would attend (even through no fault of your own) it's too late, theyd have it. Considering I speed pretty much every day it's not worth it. I have been hit before and the other driver always play ball
>>28993790Any lawyer would get that shit dismissed immediately. Also dont speed or crash. If you constantly speed, know your limits and be aware of your surroundings so that no one crashes into you.
>>28993749>>28993790>I speed>Look, I speed>Did I mention I speed?Kill yourself.
>>28993790How long is your wiener? You can eyeball it if you want.
>>28990352The Best or Nothing
This video is a good roundup of dashcams and price points and shit. https://youtu.be/MmmMZNHBMP8He might have a more recent one I don't know.
>>28993813>>28993832I don't view it like that at all but it was the easiest way to get my point across
>>28993844Too late. We've already clocked you being a faggot.
>>28993746Neat trugg features.
>>28995246Dude was bad ass, simple as.
>>28990352I kinda want a dashcam, even though my MVA history indicates I'll never need it. I've been rear ended six times in my 16 years of driving. 100%, always at stop signs and red lights. So I'm just staggeringly unlucky.I'd want one just to show the insurance adjuster a nice, high resolution shot of their policyholder staring at their phone moments before impact. It makes paying out settlements a lot easier because that footage is legally radioactive.
>>28993749>>28993790So what you're saying is you're the reason other people get dashcams.
