In a way, it works. If everyone fears getting a ticket they fear the cops. And just the presence of a cop outside a trap house makes everyone act straight.The way I see it, it’s random road tax to keep the community safer.But… I generally dislike them anyway and I wish the beancounters would allocate a greater portion of their resources to detective operations getting stuff like theft, gang, and scam rings.

Blinkers really only need to be used when you're turning to let people behind you know that you're about to decelerate very rapidly very soon. If I'm changing lanes, you don't really need advanced notice of it. If there's space there's space. I'm not cutting you off and even if I was, I'm cutting you off either way. The blinker doesn't change anything. Signaling a lane change just motivates the other person to speed up and block you because they don't want to be behind you as they view that as them "losing" in some way.
