there isnt a better supermini>Very fun and engaging driving dynamics (i would say it's as good as the fiesta (though the fiesta has better more feelsome steering)>Rigid chasis, barely any body roll, great sharp turn in and tones of grip, no oversteer>Reliable, simple, fuel efficient NA engine (Skyactiv) with a timing chain and no bullshit turbos or wet belts (this engine can easily do 150k miles)>Nice snickity satisfying gearbox>Great driving position>Nice interiors>Very stable on the motorway, feels like a bigger car>Best infotainment system in it's class>Cheapwhy aren't they more popular in europe?
they should have made a proper hot hatch mazda2 with the 2.0 SKYACTIV engine.
>>2899173390% of them are auto trans tho so that's a sour note
>>28991739THEY SHOULD HAVE MADE A REAL FUCKING MAZDA WITH A R26B
>>28991746never seen an auto one here in the UK
>>28991756usa sucks for cars they really messed everything up for us.
>>28991750Anon buying a rotary is buying a parrot that yells nigger I would love to have such parrot, its probably the finest parrot possible but you need A LOT of money and time to deal with the consequences of a parrot that yells niggerAlso it wouldnt really work in a economic super mini in terms of practicality
>>28991733Japanese cars have a justified stigma of being prone to rustSolve that and you have probably the best overall package on the marketI have 2008 2 with a shitty 1.3 engineFor a nat apsirated shitbox its really fun to driveIts barely over a ton with my ass behind the wheelIf they made a version with a turbo and around 200hp without going beyond 1100kg it wouldve been a riot
Why did Mazda discontinue 2 and 5 in Mrrca?
>>28991757you are missing out, the gearbox is lovely. short throw, very satisfying.
>>28991772the newer generation mazdas are fine with rustmiles better than golf/polos
>>28991757yea, I hate having cheap powerful reliable sports cars with endless aftermarket. I wish we were cucked by displacement like europe.
>>28991772That's old news, people are buying new mazda SUVs by the boatload.
>>289917721.3 in 2008? Mazda Australia dropped the 1.3 with the introduction of the [DY] model in 2002. Haven't seen it since. I have an old 1.5 1999 [DW] and the 1.3 is to be avoided. They won't rev.
This is the current model in upgrade GT trim.
>>28992128Rear
>>28992119She manages to rev well enough but shes not fast enough to go past speed limit by accidentI wouldnt mind a small turbo but its good enough for carrying my ass and cruising around and chilling
>>28992128Make it green and put color co ordinated tri spokes on it and you have a kino grocery getterI would go for super advans if they still made them
>>28992140You can option colour coded wheels on the Japanese base model Evoque.
>>28992138We've found that just adding long tube headers and a CAI adds a lot of zoom-zoom.
>>28992147If I keep dont find something bigger and faster I might add few things and maybe get a custom ecu
>>28992119>I have an old 1.5 1999 [DW]Here's mine.
>>28991733>tones of gripDoes it take corners with an audible C# or something?
the perfect supermini/small hatch would be as follows;>clio exterior>mazda 2 interior>fiesta chassis/steering>suzuki swift 1.4 boosterjet engine
>>28991772I had a 2011 for a few years, US model with I think a DOHC 1.5 making about 100hp. Super fun car with light mods (wheels+tires, decent springs, rear brace, and intake) but I got really sick of the lack of power as well and ended up getting a Fiesta ST when they came out here, since it was the closest thing to a 200hp Mazda2.
