>buying a car for the first time in 20 years due to work moving me>sell old nissan Sentra from '99 with almost 300k miles on it>welp I guess I'll go get some cash car for under 10k>all prices firm or at most will just include tax+title+fees(lol)>try one place and ask about financing (credit score is 810 so not worried)>Well price if flexable, we can work something out>get 750 off without trying from a 9500 car will handle title and fees>try it again at another place more or less same resultsWhat happened to cash is king? Am I forced to finance and then pay off instantly for no reason what the fuck happened?
>>28991889>What happened to cash is king? Most dealerships actually fucking hate when you walk in with cash or financing from your bank, because they can't fleece you with (((their financing))) and its exorbitant rates and fees. Cash deals are always quick and easy, sure, I've never been blown off from a deal, but that's not where the real money is made nowadays.I'd never consider purchasing a sub-$10k car from a dealer however, I stick to private owners for cheaper shitboxes. I'll buy from a dealer (cash or with my financing) if it's some very late model, lower mileage car just off lease and at a nice price however, and at a proper name brand dealership.Once you start dealing with $10k and under at dealerships then you start dealing with the scummiest BHPH types of dealerships around. Those types of dealers are banking on the fact that you're likely going to be some mongoloid that doesn't care or even knows what a rebuilt title is, that won't ask for a carfax, that won't care how many years they have to make payments for because "da car note is low"
>>2899189910k at least where I am can get a decent used car for my purposes, I am WFH but need to be in an office once or twice a month and it would make getting groceries or going to the gym in winter way easier. I mean look at this I offered a straight 6.5 cold hard cash for it with taxes titles and fees + an oil change and the guy just straight up said he can't do that. What is it with people these days.>because they can't fleece you with (((their financing))) and its exorbitant rates and feesSo they are basically just banks now? That would explain it. Such is the way of life...
