Behold the new Mercedes VLE
8000 lbs
all electric - murky if they will actually make a gas-powered one, but I would assume so eventually, though whether that comes to America is iffy
210-215 inches long (short v long wheelbase)
for comparison kia telluride is 200 inches long
cadillac escalade is 225 inches long

interior is screentastic
reviews say the interior is nice but it isn't much fun to drive, and the 2wd lower-power trim model is underpowered for such a heavy (8000 lb!) car.

By comparison, a Kia Carnival is about 203 inches long and 4800 lbs.

estimated 100k price for the new Mercedes VLE
would you buy one?

No shit? You mean, like every Mercedes ever?
>>
this is a luxury taxicab, the driving experience really doesn't matter.
>>
If I were to buy an extremely nice van, I'd rather have a GL8

So this is an electric Metris? If so there's no fucking way it'll ever be released in America. That thing was a piece of shit and a failure. The current electric Benz's in America are selling like hot dog shit.
>>
how the fuck do you cram 8000 pounds into something that isn't a medium-duty truck
>>
>>28992266
EVs weigh a lot.
>>
>>28992221
Uhhhh though I'm not sure what the actual diffference is between a Metris and a Vaneo, I think this replaces the latter, the "V" class.

120 kwh battery, big batteries are filled with liquid and so are heavy

That phone shelf looks like a urinal

The car looks like a fucking torta
Beauty is illegal; ugliness is mandatory. Skin everyone involved.

You can't even drive them with a European B license since that only covers up to 3500kg. You need the C1 Truck license. And you get treated as a truck for things like tolls.
>>
>>28992113
Nobody (0) buys that thing to drive it around. God how stupidly off point can marketing get for fucks sake.
>>
>>28992538
Sounds like the problem is Europe being a series of petty nanny states with tedious rules.
>>
>>28992524
Do you deserve beauty?
>>
>>28992110
That thing's ugly as fuck. I'd prefer the old V-Class, but really I'd choose the Toyota GranAce/Granvia.
>>
Dont see how anyone would pick that over a GLS or Escalade
>>
>>28992587
That isn't a wrong assessment, European legislators do everything in their power to kill the car and the enthusiast and have done so for more than half a century.

Why have yuros not overthrown their unelected, unlawful "government" yet?

People in the West are pussy whipped huffed up on their own farts libtards,
but people in the East really need that Westerner money.

CO2 based car taxes are cancer

They are doing it because pretty much all oil purchases in Europe generate nothing but GDP leak to foreign countries. So the question then becomes if the added value from the European refining and automotive industries outweigh that. I think for a long time the answer was yes -- that's less clear with Chinese automotive industry having now established itself.

Who is this even for when no one has kids anymore

Hey bro, I heard you like dentistry, so I put dental chairs in your SUV, so you can do dental work wherever you go.
